Be Nice! It's not 'just a cliche'.

There is a lot that has to be done on a wider scale to work towards making this world a better place for everyone. To be fair, I don't know if the idea of a better place for everyone will ever come to pass. Not when the complexities igniting our needs and wants are massively dynamic. However, it will be nice for the world to get significantly better for the vast majority.

We know for a fact that the Economy cannot be overlooked if we are trying to make this world a better place. The fact that so many people struggle to eat a decent meal and most of the people in places like Nigeria live below $1 per day shows that a lot of the things going wrong can be solved if we get to pull our economy in order. Moving beyond the economy, the political structures are also there. Politics is no joke and anyone who thinks they are not affected by what happens on the political front is surely not paying good attention.

A lot of the countries that are fairly conducive for people to thrive in their business and craft are that way because their Politicians are doing a fairly decent job. We can say the same about religion, cultures, beliefs and even the most basic display of humanity/inhumanity. If each of these things works towards the positive, you will easily notice that the world will significantly improve and become better.

That's on the macroscopic aspect of it. Even climate change activists do their part in making this world a better place. The big question is;

What about you? What are you doing to make this world a better place?

I know there are people who their recurrent act of inhumanity towards those around them are making the people to go through a living hell and I've also seen situations where a very trivial act of kindness towards another person made the person happy and placed a big smile on their face.

Think... Isn't there a lesson to learn from those? As far as I can tell, I live my life by a golden rule: "Only treat people the way I would like to be treated by another person". It's as simple as that.

I don't ever wake up any day to make someone's life miserable and I'm not interested in being the reason for someone's reception of an unfair treatment, especially when the person didn't do anything to deserve getting treated unfairly. I believe that acts of deceit, inhumanity and display of undue bitterness towards someone else will never make this world a better place and I try as much as possible to never do any of that.

The things I do and enjoy doing is to support someone who's heading up a really good road. Whenever I see someone who's working hard and working genuinely, my instinct is always geared towards giving them any sort of support I can afford to give at that time. I also inspire people with my words and actions. I try to be kind although I have lessons to learn about kindness because I'm also a very firm believer in accountability and responsibility.

So, just because I'm kind and all, I'm very careful about who I extend it to because I wouldn't want to pat anyone on the back if the person isn't ready to work towards upholding really good standards in life. Life isn't that easy.

You'd know you can also make the world a better place, right?

Yeah. You are not an assemblyman in your country. You've probably never held any position in government. You may not have the power to do 'big things' towards making the world a better place. However, are you sure you are doing the 'little things' that are within your power?

Something as trivial as 'being nice' can help you make this world a better place for those around you. So, Be Nice.

That's true. There are times when it's important to solve the simple stuff before diving into the complicated ones.

Running a country is never a simple thing. If we haven't gotten an opportunity to do so, we can still make an impact by running our home nicely. Stuff like that.

Amazing.
Though being nice and showing kindness is not an attribute of all but for each individual we get to help the society with the little we have despite not being in a position of authority or power to make big changes.

You are correct, Bro. We don't have to be in a position that is tagged 'highly reputable' before we can do nice things. Nah! Even in our own little working space, we can do a lot of good and the ripple effect of that action can make someone's day.

Just because today is worse than yesterday doesn’t mean I feel defeated. The overall trend is upward, and if it wasn’t I would take drastic measures to change that anyway I could.

This rule is golden, if we all can live this way, the world will be at least bearable for us all to live in.

Like this is a very good question, one I tell people who criticize those in power. I do tell them those in power are trying in their own best way, have they sat to ask themselves questions like where and how am I contributing to make this country better or they are still the same people that would want to receive 10,000 naira for election malpractices and after they will still sit back and complain.

I believe that acts of deceit, inhumanity and display of undue bitterness towards someone else will never make this world a better place.

At all, what many people fail to understand is that being nice is quality that can sustain a name for million years.

The country is a mess and it's not so hard to see that those in Power are not getting some things right. However, even a gateman in a residential area is doing his own thing to exploit both the tenants and those coming to visit tenants in the apartment.

Secretaries are doing their own irregularities and almost everyone that gets a little opportunity uses it to exploit others. POS operatives for an example. We all know how they dragged Nigerians through the mud few months ago.

People have to step up and try and be nice. They just have to do it because a lot is going wrong and it's left for us to fix those things, as soon as possible.

To support the right people is a good thing. I 'm surprised to see some Nigerians are struggling for 1$ a day, it is the worst thing bro. I hope people who are not paying attention to reshape an economic structure will pay attention to this. That's a really big issue. Our monthly minimum wage is at $30 and many people earn just $16 as full-time teachers in private schools. It's hellish and very tough.

The economy is making life really hard over here.

"Be nice" is an action word, that is, you ought to do it and not say it.

There are lot of ways we can make other people's life less burdened; it might be greetings, smiling, a token of money or present, it is just so many.

And to think of it, everyone wants a better life which is good but also a problem. Some of us want that better life even it a detriment to another person.

Greed and selfishness needs to be eradicated, Love needs to stand in gap.

Yeah. Just because we want a better life, some people end up making other people's life a misery and that's not an acceptable approach to take. It's not acceptable and shouldn't be the case

Greed and selfishness does the opposite. It makes life a living hell for those displaying that attitude. The worst part of it is that it spreads out and extends to those around someone that's greedy.

One other golden rule I abide by is "do one thing for love each day". It may be as insignificant as lending a listening ear or as major as supporting a person. These little acts go a long to make the world a better place.

Making the world a better place for the vast majority will require lots and lots of effort put in by everyone. Like you said, even the small things would go a long way. One of the reasons our economy is still in dire is because our leaders are greedy and corrupt and the people who have the power to correct things or change our situation aren't also motivated to do so because they'll feel it's not worth it.

Some people sit back saying that there is nothing they can do to make the world a better place, simply because they are not presidents or chairmen. The truth remains that, no matter your status, there will surely be one or two things you can do that would be significant in the eyes of others.
