Sreypov In Action πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ & More Steung Kach Creeksploring Adventures 🏞️

action.png

Our family guests departed today, but we had a lot of fun in the few days they were here, with most of the time being spent in the river and creeks.

Healing Waters 🌊

redssw.png

Β  Β  Β It is nice to see others enjoying the nature and surroundings here in the Cardamom Mountains. It was all smiles, along with an occasional shreak to help adjust to the chilly waters.

redf.png

Β  Β  Β Two neighbor girls are quickly becoming our responsibility from the afternoon until evening. They're good playmates for our daughters, but it's sad to see their parents aren't putting in the effort.

Real Homies ✌️

89.png

Β  Β  Β Srey-Yuu is nearly a teenager now, and she doesn't always want to play when Monkey-B does. Luckily these neighbor girls are always ready for adventure, and always keeping an eye out for any movements towards the river.

That's Our Home Up There πŸ›–

redty.png

Β  Β  Β When I took the above shot, I didn't plan to frame our cabin in the background, but it was a nice coincidence. I may very well save this photo for Airbnb pics.

234.png

Β  Β  Β Every time we explore, my wife likes to pose for shots, and in this one she is either introducing nature or Monkey-B, you decide.

mon.png

Β  Β  Β And here we have another epic mom and daughter shot, aquatic memories in the making.

Reflections πŸͺž

tree.png

Β  Β  Β A puddle of water on the top of a rock is a good opportunity for reflective shots, and the sight of the trees in the puddle caught my attention.

moss.png

Β  Β  Β I was trying to get some moss shots while this background scenery perfectly synced up, husband and wife giving each other a helping hand.

redss.png

Β  Β  Β Staying with the theme of reflections, I kept shooting more pics with the humans in the background.

Not Far From Home πŸ”

pov.png

Β  Β  Β The descent from the cabin to the river is a long and steep one, but once we climb up the creek high enough, we're nearly level with it.

mush.png

Β  Β  Β Hard to believe all these natural wonders are in our backyard, so I give thanks every day for this opportunity.

Balance βš–οΈ

grrew.png

Β  Β  Β Once everyone is completely chilled out and ready for hot drinks, the journey back home usually involves avoiding the water, and this means a lot of balancing is required to navigate the log bridges.

erd.png

Β  Β  Β Those unwilling to risk a fall from the logs wade the creek back to the main river.

Action 🎬

dew.png

Β  Β  Β Everytime we explore the creeks and return to the river to wade across, the river magically seems warmer than before. The river is actually a pleasant temperature after an hour in the breath-robbing chilly creek water. My wife rejoiced with some ceremonial splashing, then immediately was swept off her feet and nearly washed downstream.

refg.png

Β  Β  Β She even went as far as beaching herself on a submerged boulder, then asked me to take some shots of her pretending to swim, and of the four shots I took, the above one looks the most genuine.

spider.png

Β  Β  Β After heading back up the hill and giving the river a break, I nearly walked into this black and yellow spider. Luckily I didn't, and since I didn't accidentally destroy the web, I snapped a pic. Okay, that's all for now from Steung Kach folks, it's far too late at night and time for bed.

They seem to enjoy taking a bath and I see that you also cooked delicious food for them that they enjoy even more.

Haha, I haven't checked my wife's newest post yet. I can now assume she took some pics of the food I made. Cabbage kofta is a family favorite, and it's the dish that most of my meat-eating friends enjoy the most. Everyone says the koftas are very much like meatballs.

If for example the place is close to your father's place, I hope that place becomes a tourist spot that is visited by many tourists

Incredible my friend, your house and the surrounding area is like a piece of heaven on earth. The trees, plants, animals and rivers that flow near your house, are very beautiful and of course free for life for you and your family to enjoy it πŸ‘πŸ‘

The water is clean, The stone , the trees, mushrooms are only found in the creek with preserved forest on it. You can take benefit from the old floating woods in the river to make something useful in your house.

The illegal loggers often lose cut timbers, and during highwater the creeks bring them to us. I do take these pieces sometimes, although I really wish they were not cut at all so that the forest can be preserved. For at least a few more years I think this place will remain natural and beautiful.

Your family are living in a paradise now sir @justinparke. You are blessed to find that place, a home rather. Imagine those years that you were stranded for a long time. Now, you found a place that has a lot to offer. Your family are really happy as well as your guests. ❀️

It feels so much better here among the mountains in Cambodia than it did on the crowded streets of Paramaribo, Suriname. There is beautiful nature there too, but only accessible to those who can hire a personal airplane of 4x4 to take them into the jungle.

Adventures in the the chilly waters! Looks like lots of shenanigans going on there. Love your shots with unfocused family in the background.

I just now caught my breath from all that cold water panting πŸ˜…. Glad you love the shots, I love playing with foreground/background stuff, but that pretty much sums up my bag of photography skills.

I rely on my gopro to make it look like I have some skill.
I'm having trouble loading my next post. It comes up with an error "input data has to be treated as object". Any idea what that means?

I just had the same problem, had to hop on Discord and investigate. I was able to post by changing the node on PeakD to Deathwing. The PeakD team said nothing was changed in the code or updated that would've caused this error, but several people are experiencing it. Either hold tight for a half a day or switch your node.

Ok, thanku. I know nothing about nodes and deathwing so I'll just wait til tomorrow and try again 😁

There are some great shots in this post! The shot of SreyPov with her arms raised, with splashes of water all around is my fave! The shots of the rocks with blurred people in the background are running close second- and third-place! Kudos!

I also like that shot the most, Pov with arms flailing. I don't know why I love the blurry background shots so much, but I do. I just need a few other photography tricks up my sleeve.

This post has all the Airbnb promotion photos on it. All of them I mean.

"Welcome to the Parke rig. We offer you limitless happy hours in our private river as long the weather permits you to soak yourself into tons of river fun. Other than that, the green forest is there for you to explore. The surrounding area within 100m from our compound are secured. But if you're adventurous enough, who knows, might get lucky and pickup a live mine or two."

Now that you mention it, there are definitely a few ot these shots that will be reserved for Airbnb. I too have been wondering how to carefully word things accurately on Airbnb. There is a box to check for "swimming pool," not sure if they would consider the natural swimming pool in the river a pool like I do. This would definitely be a fun place for metal detector hobbyists to take a holiday. When we open the restaurant here, I will enclose our property with a mine field so that all guests will have to risk their lives to eat dinner at a competitor's place πŸ˜….

Nope, you literally need a real swimming pool in order to check that box. I have an idea, for you to check that box.

In can be having this "facility" between the property. Or, crazily enough at the backyard between the hammock hut at the edge of the side the veranda. Not only you can check the box, can put into description as "infinite pool" 🀣 technically, the wording checks on all the 5 star Airbnb box!

I think this would meet the definition of "swimming pool" by Airbnb. Without this, the natural swimming pool is occasionally deadly after heavy rains.
