The Power Of Money: The Era Of Ultimate Sophistication

IMG_20200615_125957-01-02.jpeg

Contentment is always going to be redefined by sophistication and evolution. It's how progression works. Newer discoveries, create bigger necessities, while bigger necessities bring certain inclinations.

I remembered life as a child.

We lived in the cheapest areas, ate cheap food, and wore worn-out clothes. The rich kids we had then were happy to give out their food. They felt this fulfillment when others got to eat their food or spend their money.

I didn't remember being tagged as "poor", Maybe it was the 90s or maybe it was because I was too young, or maybe it was even because we had a saner economy where you had people earn salaries that weren't eaten by inflation.

Inflation can now be inorganically induced

The 20th Century Was Minimal

I wasn't exposed to much and I didn't feel that I needed anything. Watching TV was a luxury, but inasmuch as we didn't have it, I watched TV on a daily and lived an exciting childhood. It's different now.

The era of iPhones, Louis Vuitton, social media, and so many things attached to this woke generation. I was opportune to experience the 90s as a 5-year-old.

Believe me, even the advancements we have now, do not match the quality of existence we had back then. Nowadays, being broke alone makes people depressed, and being unable to get expensive clothes or live ostentatious lives makes people sad.

The State Being Broke

Some of the depression I see on a daily is mostly attached to the unavailability of materialism. I don't entirely blame anyone and the reason is because life is now tethered to comfort and extravagant inventions.

With the need to solve, problems, we create fancy and expensive ways to do things making it impossible to see the essence of even solving that problem in the first place. I'm not entirely saying what we have now is entirely bad.

To be very honest, man has been able to advance in ways you can only imagine if you're opportune or capable of witnessing or experiencing some of these advancements.

Sophistication Wields Unimaginable Power To Money

Money gives you answers to every question, and the more we advance, there will only be limits to things money cannot do.

I've seen the 20th and 21st century, and while this makes me feel ridiculously old, it's just so surreal to measure or look at how far money was able to go, and how far the power of money has been able to come.

I heard stories of how people sold their loved ones, for food or alcohol during the civil war in Nigeria, this felt like the height of treachery, but how about having government parastatals, diverting people's tax and pension, creating ghost economy and siphoning billions of people's hard work into offshore accounts?

Alas!

The Easiest Ways To Do Difficult Things

I know that killing a person might be considered brutal, but how about taking their life savings, signing their sack letters, or rendering them penniless because of their inability to continue working?

We found smoother ways to steal, cheat commit crimes, and do heinous things. The 21st century comes with sophistication that has crazy side effects.

This has always been the thing. We cannot make omelets without breaking eggs, Oligarchs, monopolists, and some of the wealthiest people in the world have had to rob others to be where they are, create problems, provide the solution, and keep the billions coming in.

The Cycle Is Endless

The need to make money gets more serious because life commitments are almost inescapable. Bills are multiplying, the responsibilities of the modern man are so numerous, and it might get to a point where people are born to inherit and pay bills until they die and the cycle continues with more desperation for the next generation.

Hmm, deep! 🤔🤔. Should we say the side effects now overshadow the good. Whether we like it or not there's no going back, this is now the reality. We can only shape it by accepting the truth and working by it

I was reading my feed yesterday, then stumbled on a guy post, telling why there must be a balance and the power of sustainability . See, here's a world where our sophistication has been tampered by Modernization and evolution. People now think they just need to keep winning without a single failure, so what are we saying? Like you've mentioned, * people now get depressed because of materialism**. Their mind has been shut down.

Modernization and advancement has no issue, we are!

See, Jose. The reason you could bring up this topic is because you were able to discover yourself. And as soon as man discover himself he be filled with consciousness. Yeah, consciousness helps us to control ourselves.

Modernity isn't suppose to drive us, we're supposed to drive advancement. Well I'm not surprised because we still have a lot who haven't discovered their real self. This is a world where we allow everything that life brings to control us.

No, I'm not biased.......Just telling the truth.

See, there's more to this thing. Thanks for bringing this light. Have a nice day 🤗🤗.

Side effects are part of life, they're inevitable because there's no advancement or progress that wouldn't require making decisions that could create ripple effects. Sometimes the side effect to the Man's advancement might be too voluminous or consequential to ignore. However, our actions, whether for the greater good or not can create shock waves or ripple effects.

Well you're right, modernization and sophistication isn't the issue. We actually are.

Irrespective, we're mostly the instigator, but we end up being instigated by things that shouldn't.

We get controlled by our creation and lose ourselves in the process. So yeah, while I wouldn't entirely blame us, I just can't help but wonder how far we've gone, living the consequences of things that we've created.

No, I'm not biased.......Just telling the truth.

You're spot on, and there's no being biased about it.

Life is tough. Everyone is trying to survive and money is required to do so. The entire landscape has also changed because technology has made a lot of things more convenient. It has also created new ways to generate value but I wonder what will happen when technology starts replacing more and more of our work.

Yeah, I also share your concern. It's safe to say there's no convinience without side effect. The future generation might experience more consequences for the advent and sophistication of technology irrespective of how good everything has turned out to be at the moment.

I think one of the main side effects of the sophistication of the modern world is the unnecessary complexity that it has brought to many things, which makes it quite hard to focus on what's really important. The leaders of today somehow capitalize on this complexity to rob both Peter and Paul to pay themselves what they neither work for nor deserve.

The leaders of this modern era especially in Africa are mostly thieves turned democrats and repackaged as the saviors of the people. The leaders we have today will continue robbing people, and creating more complexities. Sadly, some of these complications will only get bigger.

They indeed don't plan on stopping from their thefts anytime soon and many people still don't know how or find a working solution to change things for the better.

Always wondered what my life would be like if I go to a far away place, like a farm or province, free from most tech hence reducing my cost of living and decreasing my monthly bills and lowering my need to earn more and live comfortably with a lower pay. However, I know myself to well. I like progress. I like tech and the conveniences it brings as well as the opportunities in the metro. Can’t imagine myself leaving the city at least for now. Therefore, gotta earn that money hehe

I like tech, I like the progress too. Without the evolution of tech and the progress it brings, I actually do not see myself in this present situation. It'll be much harder for me, and I'm talking of personal experience too. Maybe everything was meant to be.

One of the things causing a lot of people problem is lack of money. If there is adequate financial availability for some people, their problem is 90% solved

I too am born into this modern world, I can see people who prioritizes spending too conform with new, to keep up with the joneses. I know people who earn a lot and yet struggle to have nice investments and are always relying on paychecks.

The modern world made it too easy for us to live a hard life.

Going by the present reality of inflation, making more money becomes inevitable.
There are several opportunities even in this crippling economic system to make money.
Thank you for sharing. Proudly Nigerian!

Without money it is hard to build great things in case you don't hold all the abilities for an endeavor or the other. Thus, putting money to work for us even when we sleep is the path to greatness.

This is the influence of money, on the other hand, the sophistication of modernization comes with it's own consequences or ripple effect.

It is wild how the importance of money is growing every day, and inflation is biting hard, not only in Nigeria but in every part of the world. Because things were easy back in those days but not now, the sophistication created has so many side effects, but it is part of life, and it has also brought about comfort in making money.

It's true, sophistication has brought about the comfort of making money, even if we now need more money to live a decent and fufilled life. I just came to the conclusion that every development or breakthrough comes with some form of side effects and consequences.

Lack of money truly causes depression because money is needed to do so many things, The only thing we do not need money for now is life and that's why many people do so many insane things to have this money.

The 21st century comes with extravagant lifestyles and sophistication because I could remember how life was in the past.

I don't entirely blame anyone and the reason is because life is now tethered to comfort and extravagant inventions.

This is the truth! This century has advanced because life wasn't this hard in the past. My parents weren't rich and no one called anyone poor because what they earn was enough to give us a good life to a certain level. I don't think inflation was even around then. I think why everything has turned to how it is now is that there are lots of advancement and exorbitant sophistication.

Money is very important in every part of the world and I don't think there is anything you can achieve without money so we have to be very mindful of the things we do to make money. People go extra mile to make money. I would not say it is not supposed to be so but we just have to be extra careful...

Yah for sure
...I have realise one thing for sure about our economy and life in general the higher you go the tougher it gets, way back then ₦50.00 can cook a pot of soup and the whole family will fill better, I recall a prominent man saying his school fees back the was just ₦30.00 but now you can't even get anything with that, our currency is fast becoming valueless, the purchasing power is dying by the day...

So therefore as a Nigerian it is very necessary that you do all you can to keep up the pace if not the economy will show you shege pro max 😂😂...

More over the needs and wants of man are insatiable, the more you get the more you want to get.

One thing I have learned in my 25 years of life is that money can solve all problems no matter how hard it is and thus we also see that money is not easy to come by. To get it, a person has to give his whole life, he has to work hard, then money comes to a person and he lives his life as he wants.

Just now i read an amazing line that

“Politicins love problems as they can claim their solution”

Rulers don’t kill people ….they actually male them kill themselves and get freedom or kill others for existence.
This is condition of every country where oligarchs and monopolist are creating anarchial situation, where nepotism is at peak and merit is just like sole of their branded shoe.

Time has evolved much …..i am not 1990s kid but yet what i hve heard is that life was of quality physical relationships actually
