The Fastest Way To Make Money In Nigeria (part 1)

Quick one, this is a clickbait (if it wasn't, I'd be rich) because it's probably one of the best ways to make anyone open the link of a blog post.

I'm sure a lot of people had at one point in time typed this search phrase on Google and probably ended up on a betting site embedded in the pop-up ads in the landing pages they've initially clicked. Or probably they get caught up in a porn site.

At the end of the day, the owners of the websites that crafted the clickbait eventually wins. They've earned their money by selling these porn websites and getting you to click on them.

Mostly the parties involved wins, while you the one in the middle, continues the endless search about how to make money online, clicking and ending the pages and repeating.

In web2, the parties involved wins, except you

However, this post is not bait,

the title might be, but I'm going to tell you something exciting and humorous about making money in Nigeria. A lot of people here have bastardized the act of making money making it seem like a very easy feat.

In reality, I feel like if there was a secret way to make fast money, the first person to discover it wouldn't extend it to the hands of the public, but firstly their family, their friends, and maybe their associates and at the end of the day, there wouldn't be any spots left for outsiders to even occupy.

To me, this is the first red flag of "potential quick money" scheme.

A lot of quick money scheme in Nigeria is Ponzic in nature, which means one person is always going to be robbed to make another person rich.

One of the biggest selling schemes in Nigeria is affiliate marketing.

Why is this?

In the original sense, affiliate marketing is earning a commission by selling a product, but in Nigeria, most wannabe affiliate marketer, packages e-books with the most attractive ways of making money and recruits some series of WhatsApp warriors to sell these e-books to people who are searching for ways to make quick online either online or offline.

Now, the reason is there are no valid products to sell other than cheeky and clever packaging and this is why they need people always sell these e-books because it offers no real-life value and solves no problem.

When An Affiliate Product Can't Solve A Problem, What Is the essence?

20230331_065312_0000.png

The problem with these books is that they're very tricky.

They first tell people why wealth is good and why poverty is bad, then they paint a picture of the things you could accomplish by being rich and they refer you to buy the second edition of the book if you truly want to be rich.

In most cases, the imagery of wealth being portrayed in the first book pushes people to buy the second edition.

This second edition can be titled, "how to be a Bitcoin millionaire in 3 months" only to buy and open it and see that they've written the history of Satoshi and not actually the key to making the billions they promised.

Then at the end, they put the link to the e-book and ask if you want to be a supplier and sell the book, with some commission for selling the book They just sold to you.

Seeking Wealth But Becoming A Seller Instead

Laughable right?

At this juncture some people who bought these books would reluctantly agree to sell the ebook, hoping they could make back their money and even more. So it's going from a potential millionaire to a seller, and the cycle continues.

A small fraction of sellers goes ahead to make some decent money by using their persuasive skills, to cajole their friends and family to buy these books while some others end up frustrated.

The problem is, a lot of people are not providing products that really solve a problem, so there is really no product to sell. A lot of people would rather prefer to have plugs for whatever products they're selling.

Affiliate marketing isn't a bad idea but I still think it's a tough market to get into. Honestly, it reminds me of all the MLM and ponzi schemes out there when you need to sell that same book to make back your initial investment to make back your money. Whether or not it will sell will probably depend on the person's ability to market things to others.

Hahaha exactly my thoughts, affliate marketing isn't bad, but sometimes the associated scam often makes it difficult to even see any essence. Imagine having to market your way to make the money you were Intially promised.

A lot of them are really getting paid through selling those books. My colleague at work was seriously into this affiliate marketing and was even posting screenshots of the amount of money earned through affiliate marketing. I have to ask her for her own credit alert. Why are you forcing and persuading people to join ?
It's just robbing Peter to pay Paul.

In Nigeria, it's mostly about selling books for them. There's nothing elses they know about affiliate marketing. Meanwhile there's a whole new world to it. We're often persuaded by screenshots in this part of the world

When I saw that title I told myself I am moving to Nigeria to come and make that money and then leave lol, you got me there.

As for the ebook product, I can relate to those kinds of "product" that is sold to us in the name of looking for a way to get rich, which are very rampant with affiliate marketing, I was involved in several before finding crypto.

Haha well I wanted to rank on Google hahaha you know SEO stuff, so, that's why I used the title. I have a part two coming and believe me, the idea of affiliate marketing in Nigeria is all smoke and mirror.

....And the cycle continues.
Truth is, most of those who even wrote the books "How to become a Bitcoin millionaire or what every..." are not even millionaires. And some might not even know much about how crypto works. They just go online, copy other people's thoughts, edit, repackage and sell to the naive ones😄

Hahaha they're not even millionaires in naira, the truth is that these people are looking to take advantage of those that are naive, and make money selling books, they're not even into crypto like you have mentioned hahaha, I guess you already know the modus operandi of these people and how they do their thing. Naija, selling scam dey pay some people.

Yeah, I am aware of the tricks and yes, it does pay a lot of people and they are happy tricking out some people their money.
Most of those things can be easily gotten online via Google it's just that most of them don't want to sacrifice a couple of their time searching for it.

Of course it's Google work, sometimes I wish 100% of Nigeria youths can be on hive to learn true knowledge. Not just because of the monetization but to be education on the things that these guys are going to scam them for.

Yeah, but not everyone would love to spend their time here and learn. Some could see it as time wasting and stressful. They want sharp sharp something and forget nothing good comes easy.

Affiliate marketing was one of my first experiences in the online world. I was only an amateur in it before I moved on to something else. Apart from selling tons of products to actually make money, there wasn't any drive, mission or purpose to continue. Those MLM scams exist over here too. And their network is growing with each passing day. People easily fall for the narrative of becoming rich in a short period of time.

With a workable system, affiliate marketing pays, but I just feel the system is just too saturated and people who are coming in are not making any money, hence they resort to MLM and GNLD and bringing more and more people into the scheme

No one has succeeded in convincing me on how they generate the money they showcase via this affiliate marketing. I have received a good number of invite but the whole thing still looks so unclear to me.

Let me also confess 🤦, I have typed this similar title on Google in the past and ended up opening links upon unending links without finding something meaningful 😂
It's just like the way you explained it!

They just keep showing you screenshots online of the Millions their Oga have made and not post anything tangible or tell you the method to make these money, it's always our thing over here. In a nutshell affiliate marketing in Nigeria is just selling e-books

This post actually got me laughing, the majority of people always fall into it anytime they see the caption of making money. Funny enough, those books are stories of successful people, but they'll never show you the way to make it happen. I used to see all the advert but I always ignored it... they'll only shows us the result but will never teach us the process..

This kind of makes sense in real life, because looking at it from a perspective one out of 10 end up making the money, and they count it as success.

But on another note, selling a skill, and making it an affiliate product is value. For example how to become a great web designer and make $1000 on Upwork within the first 6 months is something worth buying and marketing.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. These guys are actually not selling anything valuable with these books, it's just refurbished and repackaged on how to make millions with Bitcoin or the latest ponzi scheme in town. Selling a skill is profitable, but most Nigerian affiliate marketers are not really selling anything valuable.

Laughable right?

Totally laughable and I am still laughing so hard because a colleague of mine was telling me about one e-book that he is trying to sell and he even posted it🤣

Can't wait to see his face when i show him this😂

This post is the highlight of my day😅

PS: I was really laughing as i was typing this comment😂

Haha your colleague has entered affiliate scam, to be very honest. These ebooks contains rubbish. Things easily refurbished from articles on the internet and rewritten. But because people are really naive, they still feel that these books are the only way they can get the millions these guys promised them.
