Hive Is Web 3 For Entrepreneurs

Can I tell you about my little tribe - The CTP Swarm?

We build things that a lot of people might not even be looking for on Hive. In fact, most of our projects come from a desire to create things on chain, that we actually want to use. And it's in my DNA as well. For as long as I can remember, I've said that you must be a product of your product.

Especially in online business. Far too many times, when there is an affiliate program attached to it, marketers will tell you everything you want to hear about what's new and hot. Rarely is it because they believe in the long term validity of a project, it's usually to separate you from your income and put money in their pocket.

Hive changed that for us. Big time!

Mainly, you can't hide on a blockchain like Hive. For example, if I tell my members I've made 1 million bucks worth of Hive in my time here, all they have to do is look at my wallet and determine....

That was a lie!

So traditional online marketers, tend to stay away from projects like this because....Gasp...They have to be transparent and truthful about what they are building and promoting. Personally I love it, I think it brings accountability and openness to being an entrepreneur online. And when you aren't trying to scheme a dollar from your customers, and actually add value to their journey...Good things happen.

I'm getting off track here but I wanted to frame this because of an approach @taskmaster4450 and I talk about a lot on our podcast.

A lot of the projects we build and a lots of amazing tools on Hive, are businesses with a unique twist.

Let's take for example our latest, CTPX.

CTPX.png

In the traditional sense, this is what is known as a traffic exchange. We're doing our best to rebrand it as a content discovery platform, but if you show this to anyone in online marketing, they'll label it as a 'T.E.'. Fair enough....

How these platforms were set up originally, I look at your website, and you look at mine. Very simple. An online co-operative of entrepreneurs agreeing to look at each other's websites, lead capture pages and blogs. The goal was to convert those viewers, to paying customers or subscribers. Marketing to marketers. You can see how they became their own worst enemy....

New models arrived but at the end of the day, you used these platforms to drive traffic to your sites with the hope of getting results from your advertising.

Now let's fast forward to what we have on CTPX thanks to building on the blockchain...

The results you get from using this platform is actually a bonus! Because one of the main reasons people are using CTPX now is to generate CTP tokens. You are rewarded for actually using CTPX and if you get some decent results along the way, it's a bonus!

We did the same thing with ListNerds, you are rewarded for using it. Whether or not you get results (and you do if you advertise properly) is considered a benefit of using it, not the sole purpose.

This is how I see Hive creating very unique opportunities for online entrepreneurs going forward.

We can take traditional advertising and marketing models and stick them on chain, or integrate some layer 2 solutions into them. All of a sudden, 2 things happen overnight....

  1. You tap into an amazing community of passionate blockchain enthusiasts!

  2. You can be rewarded for using these platforms on layer 2.

Is it perfect yet? Oh gosh no. We're still trying to figure it al out ourselves...But the working models are here. And I would love to see more online marketers (the good kinds lol) come into Hive and start building some amazing things.

That's what being an entrepreneur is all about at the end of the day right?

Throwing things against the wall and watching which ones stick!

I wouldn't want to be building anywhere else....

"Content Discovery" is the wrong angle, I think. I think it should be angled as "Content Showcasing, where you can show the world what you've written, photographed or created!" Instead of framing it as something the user sees "FROM" others, make it about what they show "TO" others. Unfortunately... spammers still gonna make it about "showcasing" their spam links... what's a platform to do, right?

We'll stick with discovery. The whole idea is for people to actually want to be active, and when it's showcasing, it's only one party.

I want to encourage you for your passion and hard work towards building unique projects on Hive that add value to the community. It's inspiring to see how you have embraced the transparency and accountability that the blockchain provides, and are using it to create businesses with a unique twist. I appreciate your commitment to creating tools that you and others want to use, rather than just promoting something for the sake of making money.

I admire your willingness to experiment and try new things, and I believe that your approach will pay off in the long run. It's exciting to see how you're leveraging Hive and layer 2 solutions to create new opportunities for online entrepreneurs, and I have no doubt that you will continue to come up with innovative ideas that will benefit the community.

Not really, we don't have a strong set rules. we try to keep things entrepreneurship related but that covers a lot of things in content creation. Generally, as long as you have a passion for what you are writing about, we're good with that!

I feel Hive is perfect for promoting our projects, work and the blogs too. I like how CTP is forming a community of such creators, developers and the promoters. I wanted to know the status of your analytics specific project? What are some lessons you learned or so?

Yeah have Pelytics.com up and running, but development of it will stall for a bit so we can focus on CTPX.

The way you described Listnerds sort of reminds me of Dreemport :) Obviously there are many differences, but Listnerds looks like it is being built to increase engagement 🙌

You're building distinctive products, that's what matters. You should embed a link in the footer image, that would increase visits as it's easier to click through from just tapping the image than manually having to open a new tab and type the URL in the browser tab.

It can help yo promote products also. There is nothing you will do on other social networks that you cannot do on Hive.

Hive is definitely a chain for entrepreneurs but also for users, creators, readers, gamers, etc. It's an all-terrain chain.

Nothing is perfect and that is why you can always make the platform more appealing to people. Just focus on accomplishing your goals and improving the experience for the users. People will come due to that if people find value in it.

That's true. Sure there are bumps in the road here, but overall, we've got something special!

I think web3 adds a new dimension to online businesses in which transparency is evident and it is possible to create multiple reward systems about the business. Entrepreneurs will find it easier to build in web3 from that front.

And with the development taking place here, it's getting easier and easier for companies to embrace and build.

You might also want to ask when the CTP tipping bot will get fixed (as it hasn't been working since 17 days ago). 🤔😅

That might be misassumption causing you to think that CTP tips will soon be implemented just because the #ListNerds CTP staking and curation rewards were fixed. 😆😅

Anyway, it has been the 18th day since the !CTP tipping bot stopped working. 🤔😏

Or it could be an accurate assumption simply because CTP staking and curation rewards on listnerds.com are related to CTP tipping. 🤔🤦

As you would see on #HiveBlocks, the CTP tips bot doesn't show transactions related to #ListNerds. 🤔😆

Leaving a wide room for interpretation will allow confusion and misassumption to come in and influence the conversation. 😆 By adding more details to your comments (and posts), you would reduce the ability of the Mind Problem family to cause misunderstanding. 😅

That was the last time you used the !WEED command (which was already 6 days ago). 🤔 Maybe it's because you simply got affected by forgetfulness about the token, or emptiness made you lose interest about a bot that does not actually send the token but instead only sometimes upvotes your comment. 😆😅

Even if you managed to bring your Hive account's Resource Credits down to 0%, having more than 1,000M of max RC will already give you more than enough RC to publish your next comment, because your RC recharges while you are typing your comment. 😆🤓

If your Hive account's Resource Credits are less than what is provided by 10 Hive Power (like if you are playing with secondary accounts), then that account will soon run out of RC because of daily transactions on #Splinterlands (such as renting, buying, Daily Quests, claiming/staking SPS, and so on). 🤓

Don't worry. 😅

I have a question. Perhaps you know the answer. It has something to do with LEO vote value.

I wonder why my vote value (0.042 to 0.049 LEO) is higher than yours (0.013 to 0.025 LEO) while your LEO power is 5x bigger than mine.

What do you think is the reason why my vote value is higher than his?

0
0
0.000
avatar

The only explanation I could think of why the other #LeoFinance user with more Leo Power has votes with less value is because the Leo Voting Power of the user who has more Leo Power has recently voted too often. 🤓

Maybe there should be another term to distinguish "Leo Power" from "Leo Voting Power". 🤯😅

Traffic exchanges were quite big in 2008 to 2011, if I recall correctly. Unfortunately, many abandoned the idea due to "friction" that resulted between their ad revenue, and the companies that paid it. Earnings were penalized if they were coming from a TE, as it was not considered organic, or paid advertising.

However, outside of the advertising niche, they offer fair value, and if you can attract a certain caliber of user, even more so.

Yeah they were quite useful and effective tools, but then things took a turn. Hopefully, CTPX breathes new life into them!

wtg for not giving up during some considerable challenges relating to operating a traffic exchange business.

I am all for making better use of technology. Been too long that script developers drive the afilliate marketing program. Nothing worst than having to work for a tool as oppose to the tool working for us. No wonder all programs look the same and have the same result on their report cards. lol

Sooner or later, an entrepeneur needs to solidify some stuff that has stuck to the wall. Whatever the program is, it needs to build on some core value service for a long survival during times of major fluctuations in the marketplace.

There is great value in sharing views, #CTPX Xploring what people have to offer but, every viewing platforms has pros and cons that can have a big impact on sales.

Thanks again for a great share. Looking forward to getting more involved in this technology.
