There's always funds for internet service on my phone even when I am down financially

Being financially down happens to be a frequent occurrence in the life of the average Nigerian, which was further worsened by the economic downturn and high inflation, which have reflected in the spike in the cost of goods and services.
Being broke has grades, or should I say levels? There are some people who will claim to be broke, and others would wish to be in their shoes. This reflects on the individual and what surrounds him in terms of wants and engagements. We can thus appreciate the classification of people into the upper, middle, and lower classes based on their wealth, average, and poverty, respectively.

I have seen an individual who claimed to be broke yet had over N500,000 ($570) in his bank account. To some other person, the aforementioned money is a lot of money; however, it could be a poor state to another. Being broke can be viewed in terms of your income, lifestyle expenditures, savings, investments, etc.
Often times, I can say confidently that I am broke due to the imbalance between my income and assets versus my expenditures. It is agreed that needs and wants are insatiable. You could think that N10,000,000 ($11,400) could solve all your life’s problems, but I dare say that such money would only meet your immediate needs, and some others would pop up, making you want more. This is where it is vital to have a recurring source of income, especially through investments.

There are few of us whose brokenness can be easily read from our facial expressions, actions, and inactions. Nonetheless, there are those vital expenditures that must be met, no matter the level of brokenness we may face. For me as an individual, having internet service is a must-have, which I believe is similar to many others.

When I am low on or out of internet services, especially when I am not able to purchase data on my phone, I seem to be cut off from society and life itself. The phone has made the world a smaller place, bridging the far and near and bringing them closer to us. I could actually have an overview of what is happening in another country with a few clicks on my phone, which is possible through internet access. If a phone has no internet access, there are limits to what one can achieve. A phone without data can make and receive calls and messages; you can play games or even read documents, but the real-time activities are usually halted.

My job description requires me to be available both offline and online. I receive and make many calls as regards my job description, and I am usually available online for consultations. One other thing my contacts know me for is the fact that I post memes often on my WhatsApp status. If you are looking for a place to laugh, my status would offer you that solace. Unfortunately, I have cut down on my allocations to data and reduced my posts, but I do that occasionally, and I get views in the hundreds.

I cannot Hive without data. There is just no way around it. This post you are enjoying is feasible only because you are connected to the internet. Some of us have become addicted to Hive and rarely let a day pass without visiting the chain. How would this be possible if there was no internet connection? No matter how broke I am, I try to have an internet connection, especially in significant quantity.

Thank you for reading. I would love to have your comments and contributions.

Brokeness are really in levels . To someone it can be the complete absence of money, to another it's just a slight reduction in what he/she used to have. Whatever the case might be, brokeness really not a good condition.

For someone like you, data is more than life hehe, the day you go offline just know that you are messing with your job too..

I remember one day my account was empty as I was yet to get paid and my data was just 100mb remaining. 100mb cannot last 5 minutes in my phone

I had to run to one guy that sales data, I told him to sub for me and assured him when I will transfer his funds to him. Imagine that guy refused, I sha had physical cash at home. I would have made use of that one o but it would have altered my plans.

I agree with you that being broke has levels o.
