It's been a weekend of bloodshed in eastern Ukraine and this time it's the civilian population that's affected by both attacks on the region. As more civilians were killed in attacks by Ukraine and Russia.

Russia says that Ukrainian rocket attack killed seven civilians in Donetsk. The said rocket hits a school bus carrying about seven passengers excluding the driver who was the only survival in the attack.

The top Russian-installed official in Ukraine's occupied Donetsk region, Denis Pushilin, accused Ukraine in a social media post of killing seven people on Friday, including a child, with a rocket that set a minibus alight in the city of Donetsk.

A Russian Investigative Committee officer who declined to give his name said a residential area had been struck by multiple Grad rockets.

He said all the passengers "including children" died, and the only survivor was the driver.

Attacking civilian populated areas is a No no case and I don't accept or support it and I know that the international humanitarian authorities and activists also detest the act.

The Ukrainians sees the attack on Donetsk as a punishment for the shellings on a residential building in Uman, a city about 213km from kyiv killing twenty people including two 10 years old children.

At least 12 people have been killed and several injured after Russian forces attacked cities and regions across Ukraine, including the capital Kyiv, in a series of night-time air raids.

Rescue workers were searching for survivors on Friday, hours after the first large-scale assault in months.

“We have two cruise missile hits on Uman; a residential building and a warehouse building,” Cherkasy Governor Ihor Taburets wrote on the Telegram messaging app. “We are finding out the consequences.”

Moscow has denied any intention to attack civilians and civilian installations, the same is to the kyiv. My question if both warring states are denying any direct attacks on civilians and civilian installations in both Ukraine and Russia, then who is killing innocent citizens in Ukraine?

From my point of view both nations are guilty of war crimes, although the degree of the offenses varies and such the punishment also varies.

Playing the blame will not help matters because civilians are dieing on a daily basis from shellings and attacks on civilian populated areas. What we need now is to secure means to settle the current war in Ukraine to stop the untimely death of many Ukrainians.
