My Life Update on Sunday

Hello everyone. What a boring day I have today even if it’s Monday. About yesterday, my family went to the their friend the whole morning. My baby and I were left alone. I don’t wanna visit their friend’s house these days that my baby doesn’t wanna sit down even in just a few minutes and I’m nervous if she could destroy one of their things. Luckily, it rained so the aircons were turned off. I was also surprised that they went back home early.

So we went to the wet market and saw displayed dried fish. Dried fish has always been our favorite. It’s a salted fish that is dried for days under the sun. However, there are dried fish that tastes unsalty because other people prefer to just put in a little amount of it. That is a special dried fish, but when we buy at the market, usually, we can eat a lot of rice. Price range depends on the fish. The dried fish that I love so much is the dried tilapia made by my father. He cleaned it and put on the roof for the whole day. It is crunchy. The dried fish at the market is also a perfect combination of a chocolate porridge during rainy season. I’d love to imagine eating the perfect combo while hearing the raindrops on the rooftop while the electric fan is turned off because of the good weather.

Our only purpose at the market was a dried fish, but we noticed this organized woman just to sell her tomatoes, bell pepper, spring onion, lemon grass, eggplant, chili and onion. Her location is along the road. She sold these for a cheaper price so we bought atleast one bag. We were skeptical that these veggies might be dusty, but we can just wash them in sink. The market has many vendors. Prices of their veggies are not the same. Some of then have a low price so of course, it is what we pick. This woman has no plenty of display, maybe because she sold them faster than those who cannot give a low price.

As I went to the exit, I was tempted to visit this store. They sell kid’s toys, umbrellas, bags, sandals, and men & women accessories. I liked to buy the beach balls so that my baby has something to play when we go to the beach. This sideways store has cheaper prices, but the quality also is different compare to the mall. The wet market of Butuan is fed up of sideway stores. We will be enticed not just the vegetables and fishes, but we can also buy here the stuff that we need. Sometimes, we can jackpot to pick a quality looking product in a lower price. It only happened sometimes because they are best-sellers.

After buying dried fish and vegetables at the wet market, we went to a grocery store to buy my baby’s 2.4 kilograms of milk, distilled water about 10 liters, unscented wipes, a cereal and her snacks. I left her with my mother in the car because it rained a little. If I brought her in, she would surely ride in this cart even if there’s a sign telling that putting a baby inside is prohibited. The store is strict, I can say because they didn’t even allow me to take pictures. So here, I just took up one picture. Anyway, how are you today friends? Did you ever bumped into a mall security that stopped you to photograph?

While we exited, my mother forgot to buy a fish. We went back to the wet market and we saw a cheap kilo of fish for only 2$ Or 100 pesos. But when something is cheap, there is something fishy with a product. According to the vendor, she sell it for a good price because the nightfall is coming. If it remains expensive, no one likes to buy it as it is no longer fresh and she has many competitors. The fishes aren’t fresh anymore and I don’t think it is safe to eat.

Lessons in life that being stingy isn’t good sometimes. You need to pay more of money for a safety eating. You need to choose an expensive product to get a good quality. For me, buying a cheap item is like throwing your money away because the item might be damaged easily or if it’s a food, it could poison a tummy. Being practical is to look at the product wisely before spending. How about you, what are your two cents about this?

In some malls and big stores, security officers often prohibit visitor from taking photos. I think it is because the misuse of the photo can degrade the name of the malls or stores.

Me too friend limit myself of oily foods and coffee. I'm very addicted with coffee. Minsan, lulukohin ko nalang ang sarili ko. Masarap ang bawal.
