At the stroke of midnight as we enter the year of 2024, the doctors and nurses in the local hospital were busy. All eyes were on Ally as she is overcoming her labour pain and trying her best to push as hard as she could. But at times, the pain was just too much for her to bear.

The gynae in charge told Ally, instead of trying all kind of small pushes, she wanted Ally to take a deep breath, gather her strength and wait for her signal. As the gynae watched over Ally, she gave the command, "One, two, three, PUSH!" And Ally followed the instruction and she heard a loud cry.

"Congratulations Ma'am, you have given birth to the first citizen of 2024 and he's a boy!"

Ally was so glad that this is finally over and catch up on her breath. As she was being wheeled out of the labour room, reporters were lined up, hoping to catch a glimpse of this newborn and the happy mother. Ally's husband was so glad that both his wife and his newborn is safe and well.

And so, this was the recount of the first citizen of 2024 for the country.
