NO ENTITLEMENT

Most times we find it so hard to get our loved ones involved in our businesses because we are kind of certain that if they become a part of that business, it would be almost impossible to make good progress. Well, the fact is, indeed majority of businesses have failed due to emotional blackmails in form of love for friends and families.

We easily get sentimental when we see those we love in need, we most times don't mind doing anything just to make sure we help them out of that situation. Naturally, as a business person, you are always a "go to meet person" for anything and if there are so many people who come to you for help, it's just a matter of time before your business gets affected. It could be affected positively if those people are people who care about you just like you care about them or it could be disastrous if those people are just selfish.

The truth is, no matter how hard we try to take away love from business, it just won't work especially for someone who understands the importance of humanity. Anyways, this is a two way street kind of topic because some people do believe that it is better not to mix love with business while some feel it's fine to do so. Personally for me, I kind of see things very differently from a lot of people and I think that's because I prefer to work by Faith and not by sight.

Trust me, if you want to go by what you see all the time, you will never want to help anyone (not even your family or friends) or even want someone else to help because most people who help are rendered to are most times ungrateful. I've had some little business while growing up that fetched me some little income and for over 12 years of my life, I could hardly bring out something and say it's what I've saved from the businesses I've done. I'm someone who don't mind helping someone especially those that I know that I don't expect them to return the favor in anyway.

I remember there was a time when I got paid some money for doing a particular job for someone and all that was on my mind was how to keep the money somewhere very safe and gather it really big until I can save up something that would be enough to maybe change my family's life. I was young then and I don't really know much about anything but I knew my family was lacking some things and saving up some money will help.

I didn't tell anyone I was saving up not even my sister who happens to be the closest person to me. One day, my mom came to visit us and she said a lot of things of how she wants life to be better for us and she mentioned some things she was doing. After digesting all that she said as a child that I was then, I went to were I was saving my money and gave my mom everything. It was around $8 and my mom gave me back almost $1 that I should use it for myself because I did well saving that much.

I actually gave her the money because she said something about investing it. Since that day, I was so happy that my mom was going to save my money but somehow, after that day I never heard my mom talk about the money again. I'm not sure why she didn't say anything about the money but I was hurt at first but then I just believed that since I was able to gather that amount the first time I would be able to do it again.

I struggled but I never got the chance to save that much because I started saving my money by helping others that are in need of it. I was a bit unwise then because I most times use up everything I have to help and at some point I was unable to help. I finally realized that for me to be able to help people, I have to have a very stable source of income. I searched for different jobs but I never found any until I got to join Hive and everything changed for the better.

Now I don't only have a good source of income for myself and my family, I have to help those that I can. I never regretted the fact that I used all my savings trying to help people, because now I've even gotten more than enough compensation for it. Love and business to me work hand in hand and the key to understanding this best is to know that for you to help others, you have to get yourself a stable income first. You can only help someone when you have and not when you don't have anything.

My little advise is, never give to someone because you expect them to give to you back. If you want to help just help because a time might come when your business might go into bankruptcy and you will feel sad when no one is ready to help you just like you helped them. If you help people because you want to, no matter the outcome you will always feel happy that you helped.
