HIVE: WHERE CONNECTIONS AND KNOWLEDGE STRIVE

This initiative actually brought a smile to my face at first glance and that is because for me, even if hive has it’s bad sides, the good just keeps covering up for it but then today I’m going to try as much as possible to be sincere and just talk about how I sincerely feel about one of the best web3 blockchain I’ve ever seen. It’s been over 2 years since I joined hive and trust me when I say I’ve only experienced growth and nothing less.

Hive has been a lot of things to me and for me. At first, I was just so interested in knowing how a web3 platform works and how it has the ability of rewarding it’s users and that pushed me to finally take the bold step in December 2021 and ever since then it has been one better experience to another. When I joined hive, I had so many plans of making the most of the platform and ensuring that I do that why maintaining quality every single time so that made me gave myself to learning and indeed there were so many opportunities for me to learn and grow.

After about 3 months of joining the hive platform I was privileged to hear of the Newbies initiative and that was how my unending journey of growth started. A big shoutout to @starstrings01 for all he has and is doing for every newbies who get to be a part of the newbies initiative, trust me when I say that is one of the best ways to learn about the basics and even some advanced knowledge of what hive is. I was part of it and I grew in so many ways. Thanks to that initiative I was able to learn the importance of making as much connections as possible with different users on the blockchain and that boosted my growth even up until now.

One good thing about hive that I’d love to stress on is the connection, the people and different communities in it. Like I mentioned earlier, I was able to learn the importance of connecting with different users and I was able to engage more on their contents and that in itself helped me have more knowledge of so many things that I know that people outside hive don’t have. The fact that I get to learn from so many people across the globe just helped me improved in ways that I can’t even describe. I got to learn and master the art of content creation and over time I just keep getting better at it and it’s all thanks from so many users here that I get to learn from.

There are so many good things about hive but then I do believe that all of these things revolve around the connection you can build with other users over time. So to anyone reading this article, my major advice to you on how to experience the best kind of growth here on the blockchain is to build genuine connections with users especially those that create contents that you can relate with easily so you don’t force anything. There are so many amazing people here, you just have to go around and look for them and just be nice too so others can want to come closer to you too. Well, I know there are some that don’t need any connections with people and that is fine too, hehe.

Moving to something bad that I’d love hive to improve on, it’s mainly on the aspects of rewards. A lot of times, I get to see people’s contents getting downvoted due to other reasons besides plagiarism, spam and vote begging and personally I feel that is a bit unfair and discouraging. I’ve once been affected by a downvote that I feel was not so fair but those who downvoted me it was fair so I can’t really say. When I tried to find out the reason for my downvote, I was told it was because I got too much rewards than usual.

Hmm, now that was not fair at all because I’ve seen a lot of newbies who have gotten really good rewards right from the first day they joined the blockchain until now and to think that some of them are not even giving anything back to the blockchain but then they don’t get a downvote, that’s why I felt mine was just unfair but then, I tried as much to let it go because I know why I’m here and that was just a distraction. Personally, I would advice that something be done about most of the downvotes but then, knowing that hive is not owned by anyone, I know it will be impossible for anyone to do anything about it.

I have actually seen a lot of people make compliant about it but still nothing has been done yet so mine is not going to change anything either so I will just do well to encourage those who have experienced an unfair downvote before or maybe in the future. Downvotes are what some users do to keep people on their toes not to make mistakes, I’d like to think of it this way and I hope you do too. When it happens to you, don’t feel discouraged instead just keep giving your best and someday you will be rewarded for your perseverance. With hive, everyone is a winner but you won’t be a winner if you give up so just keep doing your best to do the right thing and you will be just fine.
