Ladies Of Hive Contest 176 | "Perfect Balance"

Hey Ladies! It's Sunday again, and so is time for the weekly Ladies Of Hive Contest. I certainly don't participate every week, but I do keep an eye on the blog. And that means that if I see a question that I can immediately answer, I will take the chance to participate in this contest. The second question this week was one that I can answer. So this week I would like to take you into my world of indoor and outdoor activities. It's time for a journey through my spare time. A "perfect" mix between the beauty of nature in my outside world and my cozy creative time indoors.

Do you like outdoor activities or indoor activities that you prefer to do in your free time, show us some personal photos of these activities.

I love being outside

But I must honestly admit that I have an absolute preference for being outside when the weather is nice. Now I have to go outside every day regardless of the weather. That is a consequence of having dogs, but with rain and cold, I spend considerably less time outside. And fortunately, we are now entering better times. Spring has shown itself more and more last week, and so I'm back in the mood to be outside a lot more. Surrounded by my dogs is one of the best places to be right now. The garden must be prepared for the growing season and the first rays of sunlight are the best to catch. It is wonderful to see nature unfold and see the young, fresh green appear on the bare branches. The flowers slowly bring some color back to the gray dead world. The walks with the dogs are getting longer again. It is and remains magical to walk through beautiful green forests, they are still bare at the moment, but that will change soon enough. The wide fields around me will soon be planted and our currently bare garden will turn into a paradise for birds, and insects, and an oasis of green where I can enjoy everything that grows and blooms with the dogs.

Can't Resist

Those are and remain the moments when I cannot resist the temptation to grab my camera and capture all that beauty. Photography is and remains one of my great passions and for that, you have to go outside. Being outdoors offers endless opportunities for capturing the world around you. Whether it's colorful sunsets, playful dogs running through the grass, or mysterious mist spreading over the fields. I continue to enjoy it.

Indoors Activities

But because my life cannot only take place outside, I also have more than enough activities indoors that I enjoy doing. The housework is more of a necessary evil that has to be done, but entertaining myself in my creative playground, playing with paints, brushes, canvases, pencils, paper, and wood burners... yes, I can't get enough of that quickly. At least, if the inspiration and feeling are there! Days can go by when I don't feel motivated because I have too many worries in my head, too much stress, or because I don't know yet what I want to make next. In those moments, a coloring book sometimes helps, or just curling up on the couch with a book in my hand and a dog next to me.

Photography As Inspiration

My collection of photos can often serve as inspiration for my creative projects, but I have to feel it. It also happens that I took pictures, and enjoyed what I saw, but when I get home I don't feel it anymore. In any case, it is often the inspiration for my 'indoor work' that I find outside.

The Wind

Now you may be wondering why I do all these creative activities indoors, while my inspiration lies outside. And believe me, I would rather do it outside, but the wind... Yes, that treacherous wind makes the paint dry on my brush before I can spread it on my canvas. My drawing paper blows away before I can draw, and my pyrography pen cools down so my burning temperature is not constant and my wood does not burn the way I want it to. These disadvantages mean that I do all these activities indoors where I have control over my tools and my environment so that I can fully concentrate without having to worry about the influence of the wind.

"Perfect Balance"

And that's why I have a "perfect balance" between being indoors and outdoors during spring and summer. Inside I am creative, outside I am busy and relaxed with the dogs. They are both essential parts of who I am, and I try to cherish every moment I can spend doing this, whether it's indoors or outdoors.

Thank you, combining my passions for outdoors and interior arts makes me who I am, and 90% of the time I enjoy it very much. The other 10% I'm not feeling well, and feel lonely, thinking that I should be among other people.

How nice that we do have the same perception about indoor and outdoor activities. I both love indoor and outdoor activities at the same time.

That's nice to hear! And I think a lot of people do love indoor and outdoor activities at the same time. Although not everyone can do what they love each day.

Like you, I love sometimes when the weather is nice to go for a walk and if it is a place that is full of nature, much better, that relaxes a lot and I imagine in your case how much your dogs will thank you for those walks. As for drawing or painting inside the house, it is also a very fun and relaxing activity. That’s a good balance. Greetings!
