With resources from blockchain developers a new web3 portal has been introduced by Google Cloud which includes datasets and tutorials on creating non-fungible tokens (NFT). However, the crypto industry has a reception that has been mixed.

According to Phil Geiger, vice president of product marketing at Unchained in a post on X.

No native Bitcoin and lightning support? Seems like an oversight to ignore the most important cryptocurrency.

On April 26, pseudonymous cryptocurrency trader MartyParty shared with his 80,700 X followers, "Not impressed Google is way behind."

Meanwhile, others were more welcoming to the launch. According to Ivaibi Festo, the founder of Mitroplus labs, he described the web3 portal as a "comprehensive resource".

On its website, it states that developers can use testnet tokens and a variety of tools to launch and evaluate their decentralized applications (DApps) on the Ethereum testnets, Holesky and Sepolia.

Additionally, it features a learning program with tutorials on how to secure digital assets using multiparty computation (MPC), developing an NFT, and implement Web3 loyalty programs.

This follows after multiple recent developments by Google in the web3 industry.

Google most recently expanded its features to allow users to search wallet balances across several blockchains.

At the start of 2024, Google updated its policies to allow some crypto products to be promoted on major search engines.
