A Silly Reason

Today is day 792 of participation,

First of all, sorry for the gap. Again, a busy schedule does not allow me to post regularly. The weather has changed a lot. Winter is almost gone and the Sun is shining all day in the sky. It's not easy to stay out in the sunlight for long. Normally, the weather starts changing after a the festival of Lohri. The day timings have also changed as the days are getting longer.

In the past post, I shared that Gurseerat was not feeling like going to school. We enquired with her school bus attendant and also confirmed with her school teacher if someone was bullying her. We did not find anything. The question remained the same for us - what is going wrong? Kids do not like school after vacation, and that is normal. But here, Gurseerat was crying a little, which made us worried.

I asked my wife to talk to the bus attendant, as she takes care of the kids during school time also. My wife asked the bus attendants to talk to Gurseerat and ask her what the problem is. The trick worked. To our surprise, the reason was silly. For us, it was silly, but I understood that it was very sensitive for kids.

When the bus attendant asked Gurseerat, she replied very innocently - "Ma'am, the weather is so cold, and I want to take a day off so I can enjoy watching TV all day and rest. I asked my mom that I do not want to go to school, but she did not understand, which is why I was crying." It was one of the funny and innocent reasons I have come across.

We decided to let her take a day off from school so she could feel happy. But we were worried that this would not become a habit and she will going to demand every week.

I do not know where she got the idea of taking a day off from school. Maybe she saw other kids from her school or society doing the same.

I know some kids sometimes take leave from school, maybe Gurseerat noticed the same and was trying to follow suit. As a parents I do not like this as this will effect her studies. Going to school everyday gives them exposer and also make them punctual. This is the best mau to be socialize and learn.

This account belongs to my kid. She is just 5 year old and as she does not know writing so my wife (@mk992039) and me (@guurry123) are managing the account for now. We will handover the account to her when the time comes.
