Way Back When I Visited The Manticao Rice Field Area

We wish for a beautiful and abundant life, this is one of our dreams in life. I would like to share with you my past visit to a very wide rice field here in Manticao, because of its extent the view cannot reach the other rice fields here. It is close to the National road, and in fact there are passengers who stop here to take photos or take selfies. There are bloggers and vloggers who come here to take videos and photos. The rice field of Manticao is one of the main sources of rice sold in the Market. There is also another part here in the area that belongs to a School here. From my Bandera where we first went, this wide rice field can be seen.

Because of the extent of their farm land, the reason is that they can harvest a lot here. What they harvested is spread out in the sun here in a concrete and wide area. Rice dries quickly in this type of place. I was totally amazed at what they were doing that even though the sun was hot and still, they enjoyed their work.

As I continued my journey in the area, I also noticed these two people who were busy harvesting rice. The rice is harvested when it becomes golden in color, it's fun and beautiful to observe the golden colors of the rice paddies and even though the sun is hot, you can see the happy and proud of being a farmer on their faces. I was happy and was allowed to enter the place where the abundant harvest of rice could be seen. Because of the size of the area, it will probably take them a while to finish it, especially since there are only two people in a rice paddy. In total, more than 50 people work here, including planting and harvesting rice. With almost 20 hectares of paddy fields, it will take them a long time to finish planting and harvesting it.

Irrigation water is very important here in the rice fields. So with the help of the Government, the so-called NIA or National Irrigation Administration was established, they are in charge of all irrigation in rice fields anywhere in the country. With its help, a high concrete canal can be constructed, like the one that supplies water to the rice fields. It connects to the Manticao River through a Dam. The dam is opened when the farmers plant rice here. This is a great help and contribution for them to always and sustain planting here in the Manticao Rice Fields. This concrete canal goes a long way, it will pass through a few places here in Manticao so this project was completed long ago, many years ago.

There is another part of the paddy field that still needs to be plowed with a buffalo. But before it is plowed, a lot of water must be added to make the soil soft and make plowing easier. With the help of the buffalo, it will also be easier to cultivate the land, it must be muddy and removed from weeds or straw before planting rice. Planting rice is a bit tricky and it is necessary to grow it in one place before moving to the big rice paddy.

From what I noticed here in the area, the straws are also placed in one place and left to wither, because it is also one of the good fertilizers for the soil. The other straw is burned to make smoke to get rid of harmful insects such as mosquitoes, flies and many others. Snails are also taken including catfish because they destroy the rice paddy. The soil is drilled which can destroy the paddy field, so it is better to take and remove the fish like catfish. The farmers and the clean and beautiful place like this are really amazing. For me, farmers can be considered heroes because they feed us all. They make sacrifices in the heat of the weather so that people and their families can have something to eat.
