Community Cleaning Activities

It is really important that, the place will always clean. It keeps away from different kinds of harmful insects just like flies, mosquitoes and other kinds of insects. As I went to Barangay Calangahan, Lugait Misamis Oriental, I really watched them cleaning the areas. Their Barangay Captain requested everyone to clean their surroundings including the Public places just like Barangay roads. Every last week of the Month, they do cleaning up to all place and they are united to clean the areas. In local term, we called it Pahina, an act on which all residents help cleaning the areas including roads, canals and other places were most of the harmful insects nests.

This three women was very busy cleaning this concrete stairs. It was already filled with many grass and people are hard to climb here because of the tall grasses. They removed the banana leaves, branches and other unnecessary thinks that might think harmful to all people who will climb in here. They swept the stairs to make it clean again. They are very enjoyed doing their tasks while laughing and talking. It takes a few minutes, before they finished cleaning this stairs and according to them, it was very challenging.

After they finished the stairs, they proceed to Barangay road to continue cleaning up there. Residents here in this place are very responsible to their surroundings by cleaning it. The motivation of The Barangay council especially by the Health personels is dengue free. This is the most and common illness happens in this place and it should really prevent and avoid this kind of situations. The empty cans and bottles will dispose properly and recycled. The garbages were also dispose in an empty sacks and loaded in the garbage truck. The biodegradable things or materials will put in the compost pit to make it an organic fertilizer.

Barangay Calangahan is near at Coastal areas, that is why most of the residents owned a small boats use for fishing. Sometimes, there are visitors who visits here in this place to do picnics, and swim here. Even if the place is full of different kinds of stones, they are still enjoyed swimming. Residents also searching shells,.crabs and shrimps in this place and I really amazed of the place because of its bountiful areas. As part of their cleaning activities, they also include to clean the coastal place,it helps to keep more popular and visitors will be very amazed of the cleanliness of the place.

This is the Barangay Calangahan road were people will doing their community services. This road is also a short cut and it was very cool in here because of the tall trees. There are also stone walls just like this one, it keeps the place even more attractive. We called this stone walls, Pagang a kind of thing mostly found in the sea. There are also many kinds of variety plants can be found planting at the roadside. Coconut trees are also intend to plant near at the cliff so that the soil will keep preventing from any erosion activities.

While I was sitting in shoreline areas, I noticed this goats at my back, and I instantly take him a selfie. Lucky, he was not walk away while taking a selfie. I am really having fun with this cute little goat running around.

I really amazed of the residents of that place, if this will always keep or adopted for themselves to clean the area always, they can get a relaxing and cleanliness place.
