Banana Harvesting Time, One Of Our Family Source of Income

If a person is very productive, He can really achieved and Harvest the good Fruit behind of its hard works and dedications.

I made this saying reflected to myself. It is very true that if we keep ourselves be more productive always we can surely get the good results and achieved our goals and ambitions. Allow me to share this simple activities I did, by harvesting those banana fruits here in our Farm. Banana can grows in any place either acidic place or not. Within 9 months this plants can be ready to produce banana fruits and can be harvested within the right time. I was very happy that finally, some of my banana plants are ready to harvest and I am not going to sell this instead I will put it in the sack and wait to ripen so that we can have a delicious snacks here in our House.

Our Farm here in Sitio Linangga contains many different kinds of crops and valuable plants just like coconuts, bananas, Bamboos, A Simple vegetable garden and some fruit trees just like Manggoes and Lanzones. We planted banana near at the cliff so that roots of this plant can easily absorbed water from the river. That is the best thing we did so that our plants will not be withered and damage.

Before I begin harvesting, I checked the fruits first if it ready and good to harvest. We know if the fruits are ready to harvest because of its yellowish colors, black spots on the banana pell and the leaves of the banana plants will dry.

I also checked the place if there are dangerous animals and insects living below in this bushes. Most of the insects and animals that lives here are Wasps and snakes, so its better to do more careful. I cleaned the area first and removed those banana dry leaves. Estimating the distance on where would those banana stems fall down is also needed so that it can avoided damaging other kinds of plants. I carefully cut in in slant positions and slowly pulled its leaves so that the fruits will not be in damage if it will start to pulled down.

After cutting those banana plants, I carefully checked the fruits to see if there are insects who lived between the fruits. Luckily,there are only dry bamboo leaves stock and a few black ants, I was very happy also because the fruits are good and there are no any black spots on it.

I removed the banana fruits one-by-one and put in an empty sacks. These will help so that the banana will ripen within a few days. After putting all the banana fruits, I put a Madre De Cacao Leaves and covered all fruits. And put it in a safe place away from animals just like chicken and cows.

Next, I decided to get some bamboo branches near at the river for my Garden. This bamboo branches is good for garden fence, I gently cut those bamboo branches and brought near at my garden. String beans is also good in this branches, we let the string beans vines grows and crawl here until it produces vegetables.

Manticao river gives us a good and great contributions specially if we talked about agricultural activities, I fetched water for my plants and vegetables. It takes a few minutes before I finished fetching water from the river. This is also a good form of exercises, it needs to walk a few meters away before I reached the river.

This is one of the simple activities I have here in the Province, and I am really proud to lived here.
