Hello everyone,

How do prepare ahead for an event or occasion? Do you dress just dress up and go or are you the type that plans ahead?, well I'm one of those who like to prepare ahead, you know the type that irons and folds her clothes days or weeks before the event, unlike this very day I decided to be lazy brought out the dress I would be putting on to a vigil service in my local church that same Friday which would be starting around 10 pm, my preference for a black dress was because it was our chosen theme colour as ushers in church,

Power was restored an hour to the event and I quickly brought my dress out to get it ironed, in my haste to multitask and pressing my dress and checking the food I was preparing for dinner, my dress got burnt, how frustrated I felt because I didn't have a plan B option, but thankfully, I'm a fashion designer so I thought fast of what I could do to amend my dress, and that's exactly what I will be sharing with us.

From the image above, you can see the burnt area, at the lower part of the dress, to amend it, I searched my storage for leftover fabrics and found this lace fabric,

Next, I chalked around some sections of the dress below, round, both from and back,

After which I sewed the lace fabric around the chalked area to cover the burnt mark, this simple alteration gave my dress a new look too, as you can see below,

And yes, I made it in time for the vigil service, so pardon the lightening as these shots were taken in the night, I do hope you learned something from this DIY process, instead of abandoning that dress or any outfit that got burnt like mine, think of new creative ideas to pimp the dress, to a even more fashionable look, my mum would always say, 'There is no error in fashion, instead a new style is created'

What do you think about that? Do let me know in the comment section,

Thanks for reading.❤❤

I see, thats clever indeed!😁 And you are more than right about this:

'There is no error in fashion, instead a new style is created'

Sometimes the errors are what make the result even more interesting and we end up being glad to have made the mistsakes😊
