Hello hivers, happy Sunday everyone, I hope we all have a relaxing and fun Sunday.

It is another creative Sunday in this wonderful community, and for my entry for #Creative-Sunday, I will be sharing with us how I made a Sunday church outfit, of a blouse and straight skirt, making cloth is so much fun, it's also cheaper for me compared to buying it from a boutique and to think that I spent less than 24 hours making this outfit, the more reason my passion for fashion designing keeps burning every day.

If you already have little knowledge in sewing, this will be a very simple outfit for you to make, I hope you follow and enjoy every moment with me as it's going to be well-detailed.

Materials/ Tools used

Cutting and Sewing Process

IMG_20230629_171629_989.jpg

1 I started by drafting the blouse pattern, starting with the front

2 After drafting, I cu out the drafted pattern follows next,

Here is my front cut-out blouse pattern

And the back pattern

note that all patterns are replicated using the lining fabric

3 I want the blouse to have a touch of the skirt ankara fabric, so I cut out this facing,

4 Here, I joined the front patterns together after ironing interfacing on the wrong part of the fabric, this is to help my lightweight crepe fabric have more structure, especially the bust area, it helps makes the contouring more stable

5 I joined the back pattern too

6 Next, I turned the joined pattern with its lining piece for a cleaner finish, making sure to also add a zipper at the back.

7 finally for the blouse, I drafted the sleeve pattern and attached it to the blouse, it is a mild puff sleeve. My blouse is ready.

8 I drafted my skirt using a straight skirt pattern

9 Next, I turned the patterns with it's lining piece and joined all patterns together, I also cut out a waistband, which I sewed around the waist area of the shirt

My complete Sunday outfit is ready. Lovely, isn't it?🥰

No one does it better than you, there is always this uniqueness with your design and I dey always gbadun am.

The dress is nice and it would have taken you like how many hours to finish this? Don't be shocked when I eventually post a cloth I sew one day, you are currently my virtual teacher.

The dress is so pretty. One can tell that this isn't your first rodeo. You are a pro at your game and I love to see it🤗

it's also cheaper for me compared to buying it from a boutique and to think that I spent less than 24 hours making this outfit

You spoke my mind here. It is so much cheaper and easier to make a dress yourself than patronizing a boutique. And your design would be unique too. You can count on the fact that you won't see a dress like yours anywhere.

I wish this was my field too.
Success in your tailoring journey!

Aww thanks @zitalove

You are so right about that, we get the chance to play with different designs as we like, and making dresses at a much cheaper rate is more exciting.

Thanks again dear🥰
