Hello creatives, welcome to my blog, hope you are all doing great wherever you are. I wish you all a continuous great week ahead.

Today, I will like to share with us a DIY process of how I made a designer outfit for my nephew, the fabric I used is known as cashmere or senator in my country, and it's commonly worn by men and used for most of our male traditional attire. Before now, the style has been sewn with this fabric had been kind of the same, it over time became boring, trust fashion designers to bring out the creativity in them, and today, there are numerous ways to design or spice up a senator outfit from its usual plain regular style.

In today's design, I'll be using eyelets rings to turn the senator shirt from plain to stylish. as shown in the image below.

Materials/Tools used

  • senator fabric
  • hemming gum
  • paper stay
  • matching thread
  • eyelet rings
  • press button
  • rivet
  • taperule
  • scissors and
  • sewing machine
    rivet

Process

  • I started by drafting the bodice pattern, for the front and back, and for the front, I pleated about one inch, twice, facing each other, which starts from the left shoulder, down to the hem of the shirt.

back pattern

  • Next, I joined both patterns by the shoulder, making a slit of about 5 inches down at the middle of the front pattern

  • then I cut out a strip of about 2.5 inches in width, measured around the neckline which I used as the length of the strip, the strip will be used to pipe the neckline.

  • continuing, I fixed a placket where the front slit is, adding paper stay to it to give it structure, I also fixed the press button to keep it on place round the neckline.

  • next, I drafted and fixed the sleeves to the bodice

  • further more, I joined the bodice by the side using the seam allowance, I also hemmed the down part.

  • Finally, I fixed the eyelet using my rivet machine, and made a rope using same fabric to pass through the rings like a shoe lace😂, my cool senator shirt is ready.

in addition, I made a pant to compliment it, here is the pant pattern and the finished look together.

Thank you for visiting my blog❤❤
