Some historic buildings in B&W

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
Today I visited the beautiful city of Leiden to bring my daughter to her dancing classes.
I didn't take the usual way back, but cycled past one of the many historic parts of the city.

Morspoort

The Morspoort is one of the city gates of Leiden. The port dates from 1669 and was used as a prison in the past. In front of the port is a drawbridge.

Rembrandtbrug

The Rembrandtbrug looks like a very old bridge, but it's actually a replica that was built in 1983 from a bridge that was demolished in 1817.
The bridge was named after the famous Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669) who was born and raised in the street on the other side of the bridge.

Windmill De Put

Just like the aforementioned bridge, this windmill is also a replica. The original windmill from 1619 burnt down in 1640. Although the windmill was used for grinding grain, it's main purpose is its historic value.

Photographing is my passion. Although I like photography in general, nature photography is one of my favourite subjects. I often go out with my camera for a hike to capture the beauty of nature.
I'm sharing my photos on Hive, Noise.Cash & APPICS.
I would love to read what you think of my photos in the comments.
