Another walk around the lake

Last Monday I was going for a lunch break walk in the neighbourhood. I always have a few options to go, but this day I decided to go for a walk around a nearby lake.
The first photo is taken from a bridge over a small rivulet near the lake.

It still is winter over here and it was quite cold and windy. But with some good gloves and a warm coat it was perfect.

It was also a bit cloudy, but the sun sometimes broke through the clouds which was really nice.

The lake is man-dame and surrounded by a recreational park. There are a lot of joggers and people with dogs. There is also a small nature playground for the kids guarded with a fence.

In summer you can go there to swim too. The water near the banks is very shallow. Sometimes I see people swimming in winter too, but not today.

And on the way back I spotted the first signs of spring. These crocuses showed up in the grass along the sidewalk. It won't be long until they open up. Hopefully it won't be long until it it spring as well.

Fun fact: In Greek mythology, the crocus flower is associated with the story of Crocus and Smilax, who were turned into flowers by the goddess Persephone.

Such a beautiful walk, and perhaps mother nature is confused with the way the temperatures are swinging back and forth seems very early for the crocus isnt it

Thanks for joining the Wednesday, its always fun for me to visit the walks from all around the world, getting a feel for communities where people live and what they see on their daily walks

Thanks!
It seems a bit early for crocuses indeed. Although they are the first flowers to pop up.
