A cold ride to the office during sunset
This week was a quite cold one. The temperatures were around freezing point in the morning.
Despite the cold I decided to go to the office by bike. There are a couple of reasons for that.
First of all I like cycling. Secondly it is nice to start the day being outdoors. The ride takes me just over half an hour; enough to wake up.
It is also nice to stop thinking about work on the way back home.
And finally; you can enjoy the views and shoot some nice pictures too.
Although high-voltage overhead lines often spoil a photo, I kind of like them in this one.
There was layer of fog over the meadows and the high voltage pylons seem to float on air.
Here's the proof that it was really cold. On the handrail of the bridge was frost; glittering in the sunrise.
I wasn't the only one that woke up early. These sheep were also awake and having their breakfast.
During the ride the sun raised higher and higher and increased in strength.
On some parts of the route the sun wasn't high enough to peek over the trees. That's were it was really cold. Luckily I had good clothes to protect me against the cold.
And keeping on cycling also helps to stay warm.
I really like the different colours. The green grass, white fog, yellowish horizon and blue sky.

I had to stare at the first photo to check if the lines were cut on the other part, but it was the fog that kind of hide them. Anyway, it's really a good thing to start your day like that. You witness the sun rise, and sight-see such beautiful views in your town.

Haha. Koud is het zeker. Maar heb geïnvesteerd in goede kleding, dus echt koud krijg ik het gelukkig niet.
NL is a perfect place for biking. The infrastrutcure for cyclists makes it so easy to go anywhere by bike. Here we still have a long way to go, but more and more changes are made in this direction.
You had a beautiful cycle to work. I agree, those electricity towers look beautiful on this capture of yours, surround by fog and looking all mysterious. Here also freezing tems at night/early morning 💙
The Cycling infrastructure here is one of the best indeed. We have lots of kilometers cycling paths seperated from cars.
I got to experience it while I lived there for a year. Pretty amazing 🤩

Those shots you took are magnificient especially the sunrise with the sheeps. It's really cold there so it's good to have some activity to do.

OMG im delighted with these photos, so beautiful! If this is your usual route to work I have to tell you that you are very lucky, starting the day with panoramas like this has to be lovely.
I totally agree, in this particular shot the high-voltage overhead lines add so much to the photo. I loved this one.
A half hour ride is perfect to get to work active and essential to disconnect at the end as you say, I used to do something similar a long time ago, but since I work from home I find it very difficult to get back on the bike.
Thanks! Yes, this is my usual route to work. But also I am working more from home, so cycle a bit less.
But it's a much better start of the day then when I work from home. I could go for a cycling round before starting ro work from home, but somehow I just don't do that.
But I try yo catch up with a larger trip in the weekends.

Beautiful places are often just around the corner.
You get to see them just by slowing down.
By cycling and walking in our neighbourhood I've discovered so many nice places I hadn't seen before.
Sometimes you have to make time.
I can go by car or train to work which is a bit faster, but I often choose to go by bike.
I see thanks for the tip brother ☺️ I always rush my bike rides like someone is chasing after me coz I want to challenge myself. I do enjoy my rides but I never really paid attention to my sorroundings so maybe that is why... I'll take your advice and maybe slow down my pace a bit and try to look around me as I bike. I hope I could find and share some cool places as well 😁
Beautiful! You can really get some marvelous views when the sun comes up on a frosty mist in the morning.
