Glad to participate in this month garden jornal and here in Nigeria. Here we are in the raining season and now the rain is always falling and the plants are growing well and even the weeds are growing much quicker this days. Work has been going on from time to time removing weeds.

I planted maize and i plant it batch by batch that i gave the maize plant a month interval such that all the maize will not grow at the same time to avoid wastage. I have three batch and first one i planted have started removing tarsels on topbof ghe maize while the second one is about four inches tall and the last batch is still small.

In between the first set i planted cassava and alittle yam with it and on the second set i planted potatoes with it and the third one is also with potatoes.

The challenges i have with the maize is that goat are disturbing the maize most especially the one i planted last but i have make provison for goat dung to be used to prevent them from eating it. But i know that if the rainfalls i have to use the goat dung.

Also the palm tree are also producing very well some days ago i harvested palm kennel to be used to make palm oil. My plan for palm tree is to tap palm wine from it. But not know probably after harvesting another set of palm kennel from the palm tree.

The bananas that i have are also doing very well except it is not that many. It was plenty before all the ones i have beside the river and pond i have to cut them off to prevent erosion because if the water reach the root and pack the sand off it will just fall and even pack more sand to the river and causing more damage to the land .

So am thinking of planting more plantain and bananas on the field after harvesting the maize.

Also part from the garden i have some boilers which am nursing and they are 5 weeks and 6 days old . Most of the chicken dungs are used for manures to improve the soil fertility and help the plant to grow very well.
