One Year NYSC Completed Last Week. A Journey Of Bliss
I don’t know if I should start this write-up with a song of praise or just dive right into the good part. Well, what you're about to read is a testimony to how great things happen without making any plans for them.
After giving a friend advice to go for her NYSC camping trip, I became scared of going to mine because of the location (Sokoto)
Back then, she was constantly complaining of having no funds to make the process a success, but I kept on admonishing her to go for it, telling her things would work out well for her. Now it’s my turn, and I refuse to go. After much encouragement from her and my friends, I decided to camp in Sokoto while I worked on my relocation to Lagos State.
After the camp was over, I travelled to Ilorin while planning to travel to Lagos after getting my certificate from my school. Luckily for me, I had to check the state I was relocated to just to see that it was Abuja.
I made my way to Abuja, one of the most expensive cities in Nigeria. Even your 33k is not enough for survival.
I got to Abuja, did the necessary documentation, and that same day I got my primary place of assignment (PPA). Funny enough, the place I was posted to was a private medical company, and you need a strong connection before you can get it. Other corp members I met there were cousins to ambassadors and daughters to honorables; some did not even show up until month end, and they only accept people with a medical course of study.
So how did I crawl my way into the administrative centre of the organization? It was also a funny story.
That day, on my way to my PPA, I got lost on the road without any means of locating the organisation building. I saw a number on my PPA letter, so I decided to call the number for direction. I was calling for direction without knowing I was calling the manager, who had just travelled overseas. Thank God for the true caller; it brought a name out (Don Mich). He was nice enough to give me the directions. I got to the organisation and immediately knew I wasn’t welcome.
Questions like “What are you doing here?” Like, are you blind? You can see me in my NYSC uniform. The admin in charge finally asked me, “Who brought you here?” I was thinking she was asking, “Who directed me here?” Because that was how my brain interpreted the question, and I said, “Don Mich.” Immediately, their responses and characters changed. They became nicer, and I was like, What’s wrong with these people without knowing what was going on?
The interview was done for me. I told them I have no medical background or studied any medical courses, but I did Red Cross, and I have my certificate for that. “Well, that’s enough to work with us. You can resume in 2 weeks. Here is your appointment letter.” It all felt like a dream, and I left.
I was already working for 3 months before Don Mich returned. It was then that I knew that I had entered the organisation by chance and God's willingness.
I served there for one year and became a strong member of the firm. I was given the position of logistics and maintenance officer. Last Friday, I passed out of NYSC service.
Staying in Abuja for one year was a success and blessing, I met a lot of amazing and interesting people. So many good things are happening all at once. I had Merit in all aspect of my life. 2024 is gonna be a great year, I can feel it already. Thanks for reading. Big Fash out.

Even I don't think I will advise anyone to go for nysc in a location like sokoto, too unsafe for anyone to visit.
Like serious, I left o but people I left there too also pass out and I’m glad.
