It is good to be good to people but some human beings are so ungrateful, so people think they are entitled to whatever favor you do to them

I had experienced being repaid with ingratitude and this act pained me to my bone marrow, That made me conclude not to assist anyone again, paying someone with ingratitude is a bad behavior that needs to be dealt with.

My experience goes thus, There was this guy in my school, he was my coursemate, and he approached me after class that particular day and asked for a favor from me, The school portal was closing the next day and his school fees were yet to be completed, and if he didn't pay before the deadline he will have to pay extra fees and the processes will be too long for him

In my school after the school deadline, you will have to write a letter to the ICT before they will open your portal make payment, and continue with your registration, The process is long and can be exhausting, he approached that evening after class and demands a loan from him, he told me if I can loan him some amount of money to complete his school fees before the stipulated time.

I agreed to loan him the money from my house rent and he promised to pay it back the following week, I believe in agreement and since he promised to pay back I transferred the money to him, he was happy and appreciative because I was able to sort his need at that particular time.

The following week came, when he promised to pay it back and he did not say anything about it, I understood maybe he hadn't gotten the money so I decided not to ask about it for that period because I was not paying the house rent yet.

After a month, I decided to ask for the money because my house had ended that same month, when I got to class I called him outside and asked for the money gently, he promised to pay before the week ran out, I kept my cool and decided to give him more time, though I explained to him about my house rent and that was the only source I had to pay my house rent, he assured me to pay me back that same week.

It is time to pay my house rent and my landlord has been putting pressure on me, No other source of income and nowhere to run to and my landlord doesn't accept half payment, I called this guy and he started ranting on the phone, talked to me as if I am the one owing him, he rubbished me and hung the call on me, I tried calling him back but he didn't answer my calls anymore, all this happened during the weekend.

On Monday when I got to class, I saw him and he attacked me before I did, he told me that he didn't have the money now and he didn't know when he would have the money, I felt so sad and devastated, should I report this guy to a higher authority that was the thought on my mind, he yelled at me and said am I the first person to help someone, that Statement touched me and left me with no answer.

I started making calls, calling my siblings, and putting lies together on how to get the money out from them, All of my siblings gave me excuses and promised me the next month, but the next week the landlord came to our lodge and locked my room with his key because I wasn't at home, he sent my neighbors to me that I should come and pay my rent, I wasn't granted access to my room that night, I pass the night in my friend's house, I called my landlord and promised to pay the next month with a lot of pleading.

The guy did not pay the money back up till now, but that does not mean I will stop helping people, I just learned my lesson.

What I learned about this issue was that any money I can not forgo, I will never give it out, if I knew giving you this money would be a problem for me, I would rather tell the person I do not have. I have not seen the guy as a friend since that day because he was a heartless and wicked Human being.
