Hey guys, Neoxian Game Master here. It’s been a week since our last game, and that means we’ll be playing again this weekend. I’m sure everyone is excited in anticipation about the weekend’s game.
Because of how the city game’s turn out was affected by the recent Minetest day, I was thinking maybe we should postpone this weekend’s game to next week, so that the game for this week will be Abu’s Who Am I event.

Then again, these are two separate things, so it wouldn’t be appropriate to postpone one because of the other.

For this week’s game. We’re playing…..

Ghost

It’s more of a words game again, but this is very different. I promise this is the last word game we’re playing in a row. Lol

For this game, the rules are going to be a little different. I’ll be explaining the rules together with the gameplay guide.

Unlike in most of the games we’ve played where only 2 selected as winners to play, I’ll allow a maximum of 4 people to be selected as winners to play and you’ll understand why.

The game we’re playing is a word forming game. But that’s the thing, we don’t want to completely form the word. So someone starts with 2 letters, and the next person selected adds the next two letters and so on and so forth, until the word is complete. The person to add the last 2 letters that completes the word is marked with O. Then a new round starts, and if the person to complete the word is the same person, they get the letter U, and so on until they get letter T forming OUT, meaning they’re out of the game and will have to sit the rest of the game out. The original idea of the game is to use the word GHOST to kick people out of the game instead of OUT. But if we use GHOST, that’ll take too long to kick anyone out. Call me evil:)

For this game, there’s no limit on how many times you can get chosen by bot consistently, so you can keep entering as long as you haven’t been Outtted.

This Hive announcement provides all the details of the game and answers some of the questions I was asked about the game. In this way, the Hive post will serve as a reference for new players who just found out about the game on Hive to refer to in order to understand the game. But we’ll still put the announcement on our City Discord too in #citygames for citizens who don’t want to check it out here on Hive. Announcements will always be posted on the city discord first so citizens have a first peek of the new game for the week.

I had thought of announcing it only in the city discord, but if I did that, the questions we answer will get lost in chat (because the city chat is soooo busy) and new people who join the games from Hive or even new citizens will always keep asking the same questions to understand the games as well. So putting it here on Hive leaves a permanent reference to the gameplay guide and rules for everyone forever.

GamePlay Guide

• I run a giveaway and everyone enters, but only 4 people selected as winners to play. In the order they’ve been arranged by the bot, the first person starts a word by only putting the first two letters. Then the next adds 2 letters to it, and so does the next and the next, until the word is complete. If by the time the word gets to 4th person, it’s still not complete, it’ll go back to the first person again to continue until the word is complete.

• The total gameplay time will be 1 hour 30 minutes, 2 hours (or more, but hopefully not as it’ll get stressful) if the turn-up is great and we still have many citizens who haven’t played.

• Mr Dragon🐲 will play with us once in a while when he has some time to spare, to grace the occasion(I doubt that’ll happen often or at all though so no promises)

1. Have fun
2. Have fun
3. Be creative and interesting. Let your imaginations run wild.
4. Stick to English, please. This is not a fixed rule, just a request. Choosing something like a complex scientific term for a word will make it too difficult for your partner to figure out and will take the fun out of it.

For now, these are pretty much all the rules. Be a human being and have fun, basically. Lol. I’m trying to keep it as simple as it can be to keep it fun. But we certainly need rules or else people will go overboard. Like I already said, as the week progress, there’ll be tweaks to the rules and we’ll have different games every week(hopefully). If we want this to keep going though, the turnouts will have to be encouraging and participation should be good too.

It’s important to note though that the game is not just for people already in the Neoxian city. You can join us today and play with us this weekend!
