Card Analysis #17: Arkemis the Bear [EN - ESP]

Social Challenge.png

Welcome to the weekly Social Media Challenge in the @splinterlands universe. This week my contribution is going to be the analysis of an eminently defensive card from the neutral deck. This week I'm looking at one of the highest summoning cost cards in the game. This week I'm looking at Arkemis the Bear Will it make up for the excessive mana expenditure it demands? Let's find out, as we do every week, on the battlefield. Let's get started.
Esta semana analizo a Arkemis the Bear. Comenzamos.

Today I bring you a Promo edition card from the neutral deck. An edition that has some very interesting cards like Halfling Alchemist or Dwarden Wizard among others. This is one of the cards with the highest summoning cost with its 12 points Obviously, this fact means that there are very few battles in which we can play this gigantic card. That's its biggest weakness, and with that cost it will only be positive to use it in very specific contexts where there is a very high amount of summoning mana available.

Of course, with such a high summoning cost, ARkemis the Bear has a lot to offer. Lots of attack, lots of vitality and, most importantly, a secondary ability that strengthens the defensive system of the entire line-up. The presence of Shield from the first level onwards, providing shield points to his line-up mates makes the cost of Arkemis the Bear a little less painful when choosing to use it in a particular battle.

arkemis stats.jpg

Already at its starting level, Arkemis the Bear provides us with some remarkable stats. Three attack points and ten vitality points are already considerable. However, only two points of speed and not a single point of shield However, his Shield ability will add something to that skill. Where Arkemis excels is in special abilities. At level 4 he brings Sield and Halving, a very important and almost unknown skill. Later he will add Forcefield at level 7 and, finally, Enrage at its maximum level of development.
If we want Arkemis, we can go to the buy or rent market. At the time of writing, the price of Arkemis the Bear at level 1 is $0.13 and the daily rental price is only $0.10 dec/day. It is, as you can see, an affordable card that doesn't cost too much to put at level 4 where it already has considerable power.

parrafo 4.png

Arkemis the Bear's sample power battle measures me against an opponent who fills the battlefield with gold edition cards and who will also be using a water deck. One of the main differences is the presence of Arkemis the Bear in my line-up and his Shield ability which is going to be vitally important, The opponent only uses one card with magic attack so the extra shield provided by this week's card is going to be one of the reasons for my victory in this match-up.

LINK TO THE BATTLE

CardExplanation
Kelya FrendulMore shield for my cards with the use of Kelya Frendul as a summoner. Plus, an extra point of speed that never hurts when it comes to anticipating your opponent.
DiemonsharkBoth players place the same tank. And when playing the water deck, the presence of Diemonshark as a tank is the most used combination in the Silver and Gold leagues in which I regularly compete every season.
Arkemis the BearThe main star this week.
Noa the JustA card that has already passed through this section and has been analysed. I recommend that you look for the link at the bottom of the post and access that content. A letter that rarely disappoints.
Kulu MastermindThis card has also been analysed. A legendary card that has stratospheric offensive power and always performs well, especially when it is well protected by its flanks and has time to attack several times throughout the battle.
DeeplurkerWhat can I say about one of my favourite cards in the water deck. It's a melee attacker that can attack from the second line and, at the level I have it evolved to, can inoculate its victims with poison. Indispensable in this deck.
Swamp SpitterA common card, but one that I also use on a regular basis. It has also been analysed and, especially in this card, I recommend you take a look at it. It's a card to take into account in many of our combat strategies.

parrafo 5.png

As you can see, Arkemis the Bear is a powerful and useful card, and at a cost of 12 mana points, it would be a good thing if it wasn't! It's obviously not a card to use in battles with low to medium mana available, that's for sure. However, in mana-heavy battles its defensive power and the defence points it gives to the rest of the line-up can be decisive. Especially if, as was the case in this week's battle, the opponent does not have a strong magic attack potential. Rate of 7 out of 10 for Arkemis the Bear. A card with a high summoning cost but that does not disappoint if you use it in the right context.
