OCD Sportstalk Incubation Curation Update

Hello and welcome to another update for the OCD Sports Tribe Curation Update where we look at how things have fared over the last week. The curation program implemented by OCD was all about supporting various communities helping them grow. Having healthy blossoming communities means we have a strong Hive and that is what everyone wants. The community is everything and what makes Hive stand out from other blockchains.

I haven't really paid much attention to the growth figures this week as I knew we were struggling in general. Up by a paltry 26 users as last week we had 3085 and now 3111. Any growth is good growth however and should be grateful we enticed some new members on board.

This was taken from the OCD post from 2 days ago and yes all growth is down but Motherhood is closing in on us doing double what we accomplished. At this rate our 10th place is looking rather shaky and we need to pull finger quickly.

Interactions are down along with active users and my gut tells me this will be reflected across most tribes. Hive price does this and we all know how crazy that sounds as it actually doesn't affect your growth or earning abilities. Quite the opposite as less posts means there is possibilities of yours being noticed and gaining support which is the only way to think.

This week 12 posts were submitted which is rather disappointing as many of you are missing out by not staying active within the community. No names but some post multiple times per day and never seem to comment or even reply which is bad manners. The least you can do is reply to a comment when someone has read your post.

What I have noticed since doing the curation is that many users post and will reply to comments on their posts but very rarely comment outside of their blog. They are only here for themselves and expect others to come to them which is a * against you as this is something I check when rewarding curation. You may do 10 comments per week but only on your posts which is the wrong attitude to have as it is one who just expects.

I call these island accounts as users go to them, but they never leave their blog. Some may receive votes from auto votes but things change and over time these island accounts will dry up. If I have described you then I hope you take this on board and change those bad habits.

671 interactions tells it's own story as ask yourselves how many are you contributing weekly? I can see who is active and maybe 10 users are responsible for over half of those if not more. Just think if someone did a sports engagement league table how embarrassing that would look and this is why the tribe needs more engagement.

People are attracted to a busy tribe and we have to understand why the figures are down again and this is why. The Sports tribe had a good run over the last month and we seem to have run out of poof. I am hoping this is a blip and a wake up call as this is disappointing as we are better than this.

I would like to thank @ocd for their support which we have been receiving for just on 15 months now. This is a community run curation delegated by the community and why engagement is a priority supporting community members who are active. If you have some spare Hive and looking to delegate then @ocdb is where it goes and for that you receive a daily payout for your generosity.

Lets hope this week was a blip and next week can do way better as we have to in order to keep our 10th spot.

What you said about comments is important, I have stopped commenting on certain authors' posts - weeks or maybe months ago - because they don't even bother replying.

Another problem I had with commenting is the fact that often posts are about sports I don't know anything about. But, I am learning more about Basketball, baseball, American football, rugby, cricket, and more to be more active.

I thought of these but I don't seem to know how to source for the details. I think it could help in improving users' engagement rates.

We have to do better with engagements and I would increase that even more in the coming week. This community has given us so much and it's only logical for us to show that passion also. I am thankful for your help and support so far.

Must admit I am guilty of focusing more on answering comments to my own content rather than engaging with others. I will make more effort on that front!
