The Hamas movement governing the Gaza Strip says it has executed five Palestinians, including two for “collaboration” with Israel.
The executions on Sunday were the first carried out in the coastal enclave for more than five years.Source

The announcement of these execution today is a shock to many across the world and one of the most shocking of these was the 2 Palestinians who were executed for aligning with the occupation by Israel.

Prior to the Sunday execution, the defendants had been given fair rights to defend themselves on the said allegations leveled against them and every charge against them is said to be true.

From my point of view, I think not everything that went behind closed doors will be revealed to the public, which means most of the statements by the Hamas government might represent propaganda. Although, I stand to be corrected if they have proof of thoroughly investigating the cases.

The older of the two was a resident of Khan Yunis in the south of the blockaded Gaza Strip. He was convicted of supplying Israel in 1991 with “information on men of the resistance, their residence … and the location of rocket launchpads”, Hamas said.
The second was condemned for supplying Israel in 2001 with intelligence “that led to the targeting and martyrdom of citizens” by Israeli forces, the statement added.Source

Killing a man for just aligning with Israel to me is an aberration of his human right in terms of association. But the fact still remains that this may amount to a breach of national interest as stipulated by the Hamas foreign policy.

Today's killing is actually the first since May 2017. Three Palestinians – Ashraf Abu Leila, Hisham al-Aloul, and Abdallah al-Nashar – were executed then for their involvement in assassinating a Hamas military leader.
