Just $75 Million for Moon Mission

It's a historic day for India as Chandrayaan 3 has done a soft landing on moon's south pole. The area which is still unexplored and India's space station has taken a responsibility to explore the unexplored. India being the forth nation to have successfully done the soft landing on moon after US, China and Russia.

The major talk about this mission is that India's Chandrayaan 3 required only $75 Million or say around 600 Crore Indian ruppes to land on the moon. Indian Space Research Organisation or ISRO took all the efforts to reduce the cost yet try to succeed 100% with the mission. It is not that India's moon mission was succeed in first attempt. In 2019, we failed with Chandrayaan 2 as it crashed on the moon surface. Yet ISRO tried again and then in 2023 it succeeded.

The lessons are simple, low cost doesn't mean that you cannot have a great product. You can achieve success even if you have failed multiple times. This is what we can also learn from the moon mission. It was low cost yet it succeeded 100%. It failed but scientist tried again and they have succeeded. In recent times Russia also launched the similar moon mission but just like Chandrayaan 2 it failed. The cost was around $150 million I.e. almost doubled than the India's Chandrayaan 3.

As we are celebrating the historic day, it will be great to see what all the findings we can get from the mission. We have to see if it can be habitat or other things which can only happen as and when it starts exploring the moon surface.

I know some people will feel that it is ridiculous to spent so much on finding the life on other planet than making our earth better. But again if we don't explore our space then we will not know what exactly is out there.
