Community update

Another week has come and gone and the world has changed for the good, never to return. This time of the year is usually busy in film-loving communities, anticipating oscar results. Many people binge-watch a lot of nominated films during this month. Are you one of them? Let us know!

CineTV grants you a place to talk about Cinema and all things motion picture. Seen something and enjoyed it? Write about it on Cinetv. Discuss with other passionate cinephiles. And you can be rewarded with CINE coin along the way.

But do always remember that we appreciate original content. No plagiarism will be tolerated. Also, why bother trying to spin a piece of writing someone wrote online when you can just pour your heart and write down what you felt watching something? That genuine expression of affection is a better read any day! And believe me when I say, we can sense heartfelt pieces when we read 'em!

weekly highlights.png

Let's highlight some of the mentionable posts from this week that was posted in CineTV. We want to recognize exceptional pieces and let the authors know their efforts are not futile. This is also a fine way to get some more traction in their posts.

lordtimoty flaunting his knowledge again, this time from Shakespear to Lord of the rings! Understanding weather in film, through understanding Shakesperean convention.

vikbuddy reviewd Midsommar, a pagan influenced horror film from a couple of years ago. It was the talk of the town back then and I couldn't help but notice it drew a lot of inspiration from The Wicker Man (1973), but Midsommar has its own shines. Read Vikbuddy's review here - Midsommar (2019) - Dark Drama Disguised as Terror Flick

kemmyb thinks Beyond the Light is an underrated movie and she makes the case for her argument.

nbarrios67 wrote about Children of Men, one of the finest sci-fi from this century.

evaredskin writes on Chaplin's Gold Rush. A major Chaplin work, yet it often gets overshadowed by films such as City Light and Modern Times when people enthusiasically discuss Chaplin.

Annette (2021)

Dir - Leos Carax

Annette.png

Leos Carax is a big name in the French film industry. He's known for his bizarre style of poetic expression and Annette (2021), his first film in the English language adheres to that. The film is a cyclone of artistic expression, painted with vivid colors, emotions, and humane drama. Give this a watch this weekend.

Ugetsu (1953)

Mizoguchi's Ugetsu was released this week back in 1953. One of the most prominent Japanese films that speak for the rich cinema heritage Japan has. The film is a drama set in the 16th century. Overridden by poverty, two peasants travel to the city, one looking for work, another wanting to be a samurai. What happens then?

Mr. McQueen needs no introduction.

David Lean

Sir David Lean is one of the few master makers from England, I suppose his Bridge on the River Kwai or Lawrence of Arabia is known to everybody.
