A ton of things or"ideas" have been happening in gig economy, some highlights for you, I do this for me since I am in the shit.

💵 Valuation:

Instacart literally slashes it's valuation by almost 40% ! That's a massive number indeed.. Instacart Inc., a pandemic terminator that’s now facing decelerating growth, is cutting its valuation by close to 40% to about $24 billion dollars, might be a good thing to allow the company to grow with out the help of COVID. Most people are back at work some for or another and trying to get back to normal* life and doing some grocery shopping is a way to coop.. some though prefer a WALLE future.

🚕 Taxi Deal:

I don't know about this one. UBER was created to combat and give the costumer their own choice and when.. combining with taxes is just evil.. Am I being to much on this?

Uber to offer New York City taxi rides in-app this one is counterintuitive is it not? An OXYMORON..
Uber has reached an agreement to list New York City taxis on its app. Two massive Tax apps, Curb and Creative Mobile Technologies. They will according to sources integrate their software with the Uber APP Rideshare side, allowing users to book taxi rides in the Uber app.

What will this do to the Market overall? Gas fees out the window with the GAS rebate?

📈 Hidden Fees:

Ohh did Grubhub really get sued for 'hiding' service fees.. No doubt! Does it matter? Although The District of Columbia is now suing the delivery platform Grubhub for alleged "deceptive trade practices", including excessive fees and false advertising. As a driver for these GIG apps I know and many others know that tips are hidden on some point or another. This is no secret..

The Pandemic sure brought a ton of GIG profits but it also brought in loopholes like anything in life there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow..

Lawyers had this to say

"Grubhub charges hidden fees and uses bait-and-switch tactics, all while pretending to help local businesses during the pandemic. This needs to stop."

Nothing new... move along DC's attorney general sued Grubhub, accusing it of deceiving customers and exploiting restaurants during the pandemic

👍 Delivery Domination:

We all know DoorDash is dominating the delivery market in all aspects of delivery services.. Picking up an Iphone 13 Pro Max at a BESTBUY is all normal now.. might even get an order from Gamestop for one game from time to time. funny...

The COVID-19 pandemic has helped accelerate DoorDash’s rapid growth and market dominance. The food delivery company increased its market share from under 20% in 2018 to 53% in 2021. These achievements have come at the expense of Postmates, Grubhub, and other smaller players, which have seen their market shares decrease substantially.

Doordash is still adaptive and maybe picking up some stock in this company might not be a bad move.. Looking at the price.
