In instances where there are restrictions as above, I feel like they(the organizers) have considered the area of responsibility. That's especially so when it's the case of handling tasks and jobs. You know, if something goes wrong, you can always hold the "adult" responsible, but someone younger....he/she is but a child. You grab?

Yes, I get your point perfectly and that still boils down to the fact that they are making it all about the age. I get that there are some things a younger person might not be allowed to do because of the responsibilities that comes with it, but what of the ones they could be capable of if given the chance? Like an essay contest for instance, I have seen a lot of cases where there there will be an age barrier. Maybe its because of the topic and the way they feel a younger person might not be able to have that kind of knowlege but there are brilliant and exceptional people that are limited just because of those kind of restrictions.
