Splinterlands battle mage secrets : Counterspell

Hello Splinter nerds

This week's Splinterlands battle mage secret is Counterspell

A rule set in which all monsters receive the magic reflect ability at the start of the battle.

The cons of this rule set is that it does half damage back to magic monsters so players often avoid using magic monsters when given the rule.

In this battle, we were given only the counterspell has a ruleset, and players would never expect their opponent to come up with magic attackers so they don't play defensive tactics against magic and predict the opponent's moves, I decided to use magic monsters which was not favorable but I hope the opponent would be vulnerable.

I came up with a good defense against melee and range attacks I predicted the opponent would use by using Chanseus the great life summoner to summon the Shield bearer with the fire return ability in the hope that if the opponent used range attackers, it would be in my favor as they suffer half damage from my monster with the taunt ability.

My prediction was right, he came up with two range attackers but unfortunately, the summoner he used ruined my plans.

He came up with Conqueror Jacek with the amazing abilities shown in the screenshot above, +2 speed to all the opponent monsters, the scattershot ability was the game changer that ruined all my strategies because the opponent attacks had no aim, it just spread it and unfortunately his monsters were targeting my rear instead of my tank.

The opponent tank was Chaos Agent, a 1 mana monster that is difficult to hit because of its dodge ability and Conqueror Jacek's +2 speed plus the other 3 monsters with the swift abilities he used made it almost impossible to hit the chaos agent. By the time my monster eliminated it, it was already too late and that was what caused me the battle.*

We can't always win and the most important part of every lost battle is that we learn from them and can also use the tactics to win some other players in future battles.

I’m glad that you realized your mistakes in the battle and I hope that you don’t make the same mistake again
Keep it up!

In my opinion, you had too many magic cards considering the fact that the Ruleset is anti-magic in nature, plus the summoner might have not been right for it too. It was still a fight to the end and you lost honorably.

yes cos the opponent wont expect magic monsters, if not for that chaos agent he used which my magic monsters keep missing, I would have won. the miss killed me and unfortunately I cant control the miss.

Yes, that's another thing. Surprising your opponent was what you intended to do, miss sometimes works for you, sometimes it annoyingly works against you.

One can win more games if the cards are chosen wisely.
