Expenses that I can do without but still do them for their benefits

One of their first prompt of the year caught my attention and I know I have just been allowed to express my mind.
What are those expenses in my life that I can do without but I still do
There are so many things that cost us money that we can do without as humans, some of those things do not exist at some point in our lives but now that we have gotten used to them, we get addicted to some while some are just going to have bad effect on our growth if we stop paying for them.
The number 1 on the list of expenses that I can do without but still do is Data, this is one of the things that consumes money from people in the world but somehow we always have the money to do it, we are addicted to buying data and that is because of the benefits and things we can do with it.
Every month, I subscribe to the Mtn monthly Data plan twice which costs me 16 000 naira for 75 gig and 37 gig extra bonus and since I do it twice, that is a total of 32 000 naira in a month.
I can do without data but the consequence is severe because that means I would have to stop all my online jobs including hive and focus on offline jobs that do not require data, I would also lose connection with my online friends and all communications would stop abruptly.
The damage that will be done is more than the 32,000 naira that I spend monthly so it is not just worth it, not sorry to say I will sub till I die!
The number 2 expense is a subscription to Netflix and Decoder, during leisure time, one of the things I use to keep my company is streaming movies on the Netflix app, it keeps me occupied, I do the basic plan which costs me only #1200, it is cheap and affordable but it also consumes data hence why data remains the number 1 of my expense.
I sub for the Gotv Decoder because of my fiancee, that is what keeps her entertained, I normally sub for the #3950 jolli plan, there are higher plans but I can't be spending 10, 000 Naira on GoTv sub every month in this Tinubu regime.
These subscriptions are what I can do without but I do them because they are important and make life easier and fun.

Hehe. I think data subscriptions is one of the draining cost we face. Although you can try to minimise your cost on data.
I can’t remember when last we subscribed to our dstv.. if one don’t make high subscription , what they show is always old and annoying
you get it about these decoders, they only made the nonsense channels available for lower subscription but i won't be tempted to sub max, netflix got me covered.
Actually If it is just me, The 75 gig and extra 37 gig plan is enough for me for a month but i do not use it alone, i do on my wifi for some people and also transfer data to some others which makes the data plan exhaust faster than expected.

Data is one of the things many Nigerians spend a lot of money on and even though we can choose to do without it, there are a lot of things at stake. Gone are the days when we just subscribed to play games and watch movies, we are getting something in return which is a great thing for me.

I also could not do without data especially when I'm on the street, not everywhere there is free wifi 😟, I would add the subscription to Disney+, HBO+ although there is a website where I usually watch all kinds of movies and series and the membership is not so expensive.
even free wifi is not free, because to access some free wifi, you need to spend on some other things in the location, I mean places like hotels and lounges.
we have free sites like nkiri.com where I can also download movies, but I love streaming on Netflix

yesterday udezee told me about a 1 terabyte plan that cost 100 000 naira, I just did that, It gives more data compared to the one I used to do, cos after calculating I will have 300 gigs extra.
I am done with subscription for this year.
It is a fact that the way we see that if we have to do something with a person, then that person behaves wrongly with us, so people should not behave in this way at all.

I think that number 1 is universe for everyone now at the digital age. It is difficult for one to do without data now in this our present age
you are right, it start to look like a compulsory thing to have rather than a necessity....
In the case of data pack, I don't need it as I use wifi but I buy a long time vaid data pack for using it in the outside of home. Netflix subscription is a thing which I haven't done yet and I don't have plans to do it in the future also.
It is surprising that somehow everyone manages the money to buy data packs even instead of having no money in their pocket.

yea even with the hardship, people still find a way to purchase data, not having it could lead to depression.
In home I used wifi but outside of home I don't remain under router's coverage area.
So stay connected with internet I buy data pack which will expire after some years. I hope now you can understand.

I am definitely guilty of the Netflix subscription. I'm certain that I can do without it but my days would be boring. Streaming movies, especially the recent ones, can be really entertaining.
