It's pretty safe to assume that crypto has finally grabbed the world's attention. Those who didn't pay attention before are wondering if they missed their opportunity to buy in. Those who don't care are still trying to convince you that it's killing the environment. They ask you what gives it value and they tell you that they have some tulips they want to sell you.

Ask them if they will take crypto as payment for those tulips...

Then you have the holders which I think can be split into two very basic groups.

• The people I mentioned the other day who decided to create a Robinhood or Coinbase account and try to make a quick buck. They likely already have a full time job and drive an SUV. They live in Mcmansions and the most important thing in their life is how successful their kid is at sports. That's one of my nieces in the photo above by the way.

• Then you have the people like me (us), who really believe in crypto and have been steadfastly building and waiting for this moment for the past four (or eight) years.

It's been a long road, we've seen ups and downs, we've been scammed or liquidated, we've aped into those NFT things. Ultimately though, we have learned and grown. We are a community and we love this crazy and wild ride.

I always kind of wanted to be a magician growing up. The whole sleight of hand thing is fascinating to me. Unfortunately, I'm not really coordinated enough to be able to properly misdirect someone in the manner that is required. Sure, I could do a couple card tricks here and there that relied on basic mathematical principles, but anything beyond that was out of my reach.

I mention this because right now it kind of feels like we are dealing with a sleight of hand with the markets.

Personally, as much as I enjoy seeing the price of Bitcoin go up (or down) and occasionally drag some of the alts with it, I find it hard to derive any real joy from it.

Let me be more plain

Right now, the bull market is bull crap

"Wait" you say, "number go up".

Yes, the number is going up, but if you have been paying any attention, you know that this is just the beginning. I'm not telling you to not take gains when you can, but we still have a long way to go before 2025 and according to a lot of the tried and true indicators, that's when things are really going to get crazy.

Like life changing crazy supposedly.

In Michigan (and probably a lot of other places), we have this thing called "false Spring" or some variation. It's a time in the middle or end of Winter when the weather feels almost like Spring is here. Temps hit the 70 degree F mark last weekend and I actually spent some time out on the patio without a coat on manning the grill.

I know full well though that a week or two from now we will probably get six to eight inches of snow dumped on us. Probably right around the time Spring is actually supposed to be here.

Like that early taste of Spring, I am having a hard time getting too excited because I know the real thing is quite here yet.

I definitely want to take some gains, and I am holding a bag of alt coins that I hope will make that possible eventually, to quote a famous line from the movie Gladiator:

"But Not Yet... Not Yet"

We aren't even to the halving yet. We still have almost ten months to go before 2025.

I'm not saying don't get excited, but don't be that teenage boy on his first date messing his drawers because he got to first base.
