I was sitting in my office the other day when an article from Yahoo news came across my feed. I know, I know, Yahoo news is probably the lowest of the low when it comes to reasonable information on the Internet. That didn't used to be the case, but now it would seem they are willing to allow any shill or "influencer" to infiltrate their ranks.
The good news is, I have started to see more cryptocurrency stories across my feed now that the ETFs have launched, so whatever that is worth I guess...
It's mostly mindless pop culture drivel that I read the Yahoo news feed for. It's not like I would go there for serious geo-political stuff. Oh, and the comments, some of those comments are just golden. Then again, some of the comments remind me why I have lost faith in humanity and just how far we are from ever living happily ever after.
The news story I wanted to talk about today was about sports though. Something light, not controversial at all right?
In anticipation of the next round of the NFL playoffs, someone at Yahoo sports felt it would be a good idea to rank the eight quarterbacks. Needless to say, whoever this Frank Schwab guy is, I disagree with him completely.
It's not that I am salty about the fact he ranked Jared Goff seven out of eight, I fully admit that Goff isn't the best quarterback in the league and he has had some truly abysmal games this season. I don't think I would rank him that close to the bottom though.
Then we have the fact that he ranked Mahomes as number 1. If you are going to not take into account the rest of the team and shove Goff all the way down to seven, there is zero chance Mahomes sits in the number 1 spot.
None.
Zero.
Nope.
Not even close!
Let's take a look at the rankings from this yahoo at Yahoo.
What kind of trash is that? I can't help but think some money exchanged hands in the writing of this article for Yahoo. Perhaps some State Farm vouchers or a free subscription to T-Mobile? Clearly some favors were exchanged for Mahomes to rank so highly given the pretty average performance they have had this year. Sure, they made it to the playoffs, but I'm not really sure that counts for much. I mean Green Bay and Tampa Bay are here with a record of 9 - 8.
For your viewing pleasure, I am going to give you my ranking of the eight quarterbacks playing in the playoffs this weekend.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
