Hello Chattanooga! Fall softball comes to a close

As we speak, my niece is on her way to her final softball tournament of the year with her travel team down in Chattanooga, TN. The photo above is one that I took when @mrsbozz and I made the drive down to Chattanooga back in 2016.

It's almost hard to believe it has been that long since we have been down there. There is a really cool aquarium downtown, if you ever get the chance to visit it, I highly recommend!

Action starts tonight at 5:00 PM CST with the Lasers Scarlet team facing off against the USA Prime Seiler team. A lot of times you will see teams signified by the name of their coach. The Lasers don't do that, but in this case it would be as follows:

The USA Prime organization might have multiple teams at various levels Under 14, Under 16, Under 12, etc. In this case, the team they are playing is coached by someone with the last name Seiler.

After that, they have another game at 8:00 PM CST against Originals 26/27 (HS grad year) Moss.

Hopefully it is an early night for them with some big wins because tomorrow they start the action promptly at 9:30 AM against Phoenix Fastpitch, then another game at 2 and finally a game at 8. They have seven games across the weekend finishing at 2:00 on Sunday.

It's going to be a busy weekend to say the lest.

You better believe I will be streaming the action in my living room. I'd love to say I am going to be relaxing on my couch watching it, but our dog Jovi peed all over the couch, so it is going to the county dump tonight.

As far as college football goes, it's going to be a pretty exciting weekend. Things are really starting to heat up and there are some big games on the schedule. Anyone else a little surprised that Ohio State is now the #1 team in the nation? I bet the Wolverine fans are a little butt hurt about that.

Not to mention the Georgia fans...

I'm going to be doing a lot of yardw ork this weekend, so I am not sure how much college football I am going to get to watch. If I had to key in on some key games, these would be the ones:

Of course I will be watching the Nebraska/Michigan State game. It's home, so State might actually have a chance. Plus, if Leavitt gets the start, we might have a glimmer of a hope. I'm not holding my breath though.

#23 Kansas State vs. #7 Texas could be a good game. It's in Texas though, so it might be a bit lopsided. If that game turns out to be a snoozer, just wait for 3:30 when you can catch #9 Oklahoma vs. #22 Oklahoma State. That could also be a good game between two high power teams with very similar records.

Again, if that game turns into a bore, I would check out #12 Missouri vs. #2 Georgia. I expect Georgia will run away with this one, but there might be a reason the powers that be knocked them down into the #2 spot.

Finally, if you are in the mood for some late night action, I suggest you check out #5 Washington vs. #20 USC or #14 LSU vs. #8 Alabama. Those have the potential to be a couple of really good games.

On the NFL side of things, the Lions are on bye this week, so I am not sure how much football I am going to be watching on Sunday. Which works out pretty well since those softball games are taking place on Sunday.

If you had to watch a couple games, I would recommend these:

Miami/KC is an early game on Sunday, I am guessing they are playing somewhere in the UK. Those two teams are both 6-2, so this will be an important game for them.

In the standard 1:00 PM slot, I would probably recommend Seattle and Baltimore. Then at 4:00 your best bet is Dallas/Philly.

That's really all I can recommend at this point unless you are a huge fan of a specific team.

I hope you have a great weekend and be sure to check back next Monday/Tuesday for all the updates!
