Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week 16 Recap: It's officially over for me

Despite a valiant effort by my team to clinch the number 5 spot in the league, I couldn't keep up iwth my nieces team that put up an impressive 146 points on the week. Even on a good day you can't compete with that, let alone during the playoffs. It doesn't much matter anyway. This was a consolation game at the very least.

The real games were being played without me. My sister in law beat her husband to advance to the finals and my brother in law beat my other sister in law to face off against her. It's going to be an epic battle and one of them is going to end up with $110 worth of gift cards to various places chosen by the losers.

Despite her woeful team name, my niece's team actually had a really great week. I wasn't feeling too bad about my team, but the lousy 85 points they put up shows that I was really kidding myself when it came to my expectations for the week.

The projected score was actually much closer between the two of us. In the end, it all came down to a couple of poor players on my team.

As you can see, Jackson didn't do too horrible at quarterback for me, but not keeping an eye on Pittman was a big mistake on my part. Then again, Sutton scored zero points for my niece, so we should have been pretty even by that point. If nothing else, I was in the lead with 22.58 points to her 18.62.

As you move down the roster, I think it is pretty clear that Hall is where things started to take the turn for her team. The addition of Henry and the lack of production from Kamara on my side of things is where I really screwed the pooch.

Add to that the fact that Kelce has been pretty horrible the past couple of weeks, and I likely had no chance of actually winning.

My niece had a player on her bench that scored 31.5 points, so if she had put them in instead of Sutton, she likely would have had a 180 point game. That's just unreal.

With this game in the books, my niece jumps up to 3rd place in the league. My sister in law drops down to 6th place with her loss (due to points), and my brother in law moves up to 4th place after his loss to his wife.

I sit happily in 5th place and @mrsbozz holds onto the 9th place spot after a win last week against the #8 team in the consolation bracket.

I will have one more update next week with the winner of the championship game, then we look forward to the next year when I can hopefully change our fortunes. As I mentioned last week, @mrsbozz and I are still the only family that at least one of us hasn't won the championship.

Pretty horrible!
