A comparison between the Hive blockchain and Blogspot

avatar

Since I joined the Hive blockchain back in 2017, I have always thought of it as a decentralized Blogspot. But going with my thought further, things are standing a little bit more different even if both platforms' main objective (at least initially) is/was for publishing content online. But let's see what might be the important differences that set them apart.

Blogspot (Blogger) is a blogging platform owned by Google that allows users to create and publish blog posts. It is a centralized platform, meaning that Google controls all the data and content on the platform. Blogspot has a user-friendly interface and provides users with a range of templates and customization options to create a unique blog. It is also free to use, making it an accessible option for those looking to start a blog.

Hive blockchain, on the other hand, is a decentralized platform built on blockchain technology. It allows users to create and publish content, as well as receive rewards in the form of Hive tokens for their contributions to the platform. Unlike Blogspot, Hive is a decentralized network, meaning that it is not controlled by a central authority. This makes it more resistant to censorship and more secure for users. Additionally, Hive provides users with the opportunity to monetize their content through token rewards, making it a potentially more lucrative option for bloggers.

In terms of features and capabilities, Hive is more advanced than Blogspot, with a focus on community building and content monetization. However, it also requires a deeper understanding of blockchain technology, making it a more complex platform to use. Blogspot, on the other hand, is simpler and more accessible but lacks the decentralized and monetization capabilities of Hive.

While I started my amateur journey with Blogspot, I must say that I didn't reach any decent monetization with it. But with Hive, I could earn right after my first post seen the day of light. Of course, there where pennies, but the potential was there, and with building a network that could only improve. And it did. Most of my Hive Power was obtained through content creation and curation. With Blogspot, I couldn't accomplish this in a thousand years. So for me, the choice was and is simple: Hive blockchain!

I didn't venture into writing blogs back in the day but I did frequent blogspot sites, It was my secondary source of information back then. Fast forward to today and we have the Hive blockchain with thousands of post on different niches. Both of them are information hubs but the latter (i.e Hive) is more rewarding for the reasons you mentioned above. Hive is multidimensional.

Indeed, both are information hubs, but Hive took it to the next level. I just wish it also had an easy and free way for someone to buy a domain and launch its blog in minutes on Hive.

If there are many requests for it then it could be integrated into the future. I think will be a great feature for professionals or those who want to take their brand to a whole different level.

Hive is strong and trusted platform. There are many such websites like facebook and twitter but they don't see their users in any returns. Hive is the best in the way that anyone who works hard here is bound to get some reward. And the community here is very supportive to new users. We will see in the coming time it becomes very popular all over the world.

I really did not make any money on blogspot. The only advantage blogspot has, compared to hive, is that an older article still can earn commission. This is the only thing I can think of.

True, maybe also that will be solved on Hive as it would make a better revenue stream. We shall see what the future reserves for us.

It is hard to implement with the downvotes, how to quantify them. But we never know, there might be a solution.
