What Your Coffee Says About You

Reading this book “Why you act the way you act” gave me an open mentality to lots of things. This book made me see that you could tell a lot about the next person by their actions, how they eat, how they dress, how they speak, and finally, you could have an insight about a person by how they drink their coffee. There’s a probability that you could be wrong but I believe that there could be an atom of truth most times.

In the same way, one’s dress could tell us a few things about them, that is the same way that how we drink our coffee or how we like our coffee tells a thing or two about our personalities.
I have come to understand that people have different ways they drink their coffee, and how they love to have it, some even go as far as having a specific time for their coffee and once it is past that time, they feel there is a disruption to their routine.

I think in one of my coffee posts, I mentioned a certain friend of mine who drinks coffee in a secluded environment, he takes his coffee quietly without doing anything to disrupt his intake of coffee, and he takes his coffee as he meditates. When I noticed the way he took his coffee I came to realize that he is someone who loves his own space, he doesn’t like noise and he is someone that needs to meditate and concentrate before doing anything.

When I told him the opinion I had about him, he smiled and said I was correct and asked how I knew, I just had to tell him, I got an insight from how he always took his coffee without wanting any distraction. This act gave in to his personality.

When it comes to how most people take their coffee as well, I could tell what they are. There are those people who just want their coffee black and then they are good to go, those kind of people loves simplicity and do not have the strength for every other addition, which to them is not important, what is important is having a cup of coffee. For me, I would even say that most people who love just a cup of black coffee are minimalists.

Then we have those who will always want to have different coffee, they will always want to make different coffee art or maybe visit different coffee cafes just to have a taste of their coffee. This kind of people to me are the adventurous ones. Someone who will go through having different tastes of coffee is someone who likes to explore different things.

Apart from how most people love to take their coffee, I believe the environment and method in which people take their coffee could also give an insight into who they are. For instance, I do not like having my coffee in the coffee cafe, even if I am out of coffee, I prefer buying and leaving because I love to taste every bit of it in my mouth and most times I love to be creative while I take my coffee quietly. I think this trait of taking one’s coffee is mostly aligned with introverts or ambiverts.

I might not be correct totally but this is what I think about how certain people take their coffee, most people are cautious about the quantity of coffee they use, the sugar measurements, the milk measurements, down to the cup that they use for their coffee, these kind of people could be perfectionist even in their daily lives.

Either way, we are all different so it is okay for us to have our coffee however we want.

I don't even add any other thing to my coffee, I take it natural like that and love to have my space when sipping it. We are what we are indeed and I love how you describe each individual and their personality when it comes to drinking coffee.

I agree with you, the way people take their coffee says a lot about who they are.

That's an interesting observation that sounds right, indeed!

I never really paid much attention to any of these things, but after reading this, I thinkI will:)

Thank you so much

I think some things tells alot about us

You really took a lot of care in outlining your considerations, I enjoyed this read quite a bit. I can relate to both you and your friend who likes to meditate, I ideally enjoy my coffee in a calm and personal way. I am not a big fan of shops either, and prefer to arrange my own cup as well.

A coffee cheers to you ☕️

Thank you so much for reading this☺️

I think I agree with your position. Our actions and inactions define us to a great extent. Of course, the way we take coffee can say a lot about who we are. Thank you for the beautiful piece.

I think most people make their coffee how they were taught how to from scratch. For me I just don’t think if I’m used to something, I’ll be comfortable to try another thing of the same thing, if that make sense….so in that case, is it still talking about how I am or about whoever taught me?

I think most times knowing people from the way they make their coffee or drink their coffee, doesn’t given in to 100percent their personality.

Like you said most people make it from how they were taught, but then there are people who loves exploring, so that gives a bit about them being adventurous

If i say i got a coffee at home and still never thought of trying oneday..lol

I think i would give a trial to get this logic too..

That will be great

Everything about this post is making me think of going back to drinking coffee. 🤔

I'm fussy with my coffee. I dont use instant and, when I'm on a real coffee period, I grind the beans myself.

If I'm out, I'll have a cup of tea as I'm less concerned how that arrives in the cup. It's easier for me to cope with a poor cup of tea than a poor cup of coffee.

0E-8 BEE

Ohh, I see. You are intentional about your coffee and that is nice
