The Traits.

pexels-hamid-tajik-7916386.jpg

I have seen it firsthand. The anger, blazing fire, the screaming and... death! It is not just a movie. It is real, and our world encourages it.

As humans, we can be very good and very evil at the snap of a finger. Just in a glance, we can ruin things we worked endlessly to build and for what?

Seeing how the world is, there's a lot of changes needed to truly live life comfortably without being scared of what the other person in the same room as ours is planning. Human traits are filled with anger, blood thirst, and war. We all have that side in us. The animalistic side that makes scientists right about us being an "Higher Animal."

When what we want doesn't go our way, many of us find other means possible to get them even if someone or a billion has to pay the price. This is one of the reasons that birth the presence of Internet fraudsters and all other criminals.

Also, we have people who became terrorists because of the nonchalant attitude of governments, which aggravates their actions to others.

The citizens and soldiers who fought and are still fighting endlessly to make things work out for the country can be left to die when the government wishes.

Just imagine a scene where a soldier is caught by a terrorist and the terrorists sought for money which the country can afford, we all know the soldier will die because countries do not negotiate with terrorists but if the minister, or the child of the person who was kidnapped is the president's child, and such money is asked, they'll pay. Hypocrisy!

However, if I have the ability to stick 3 traits in humans' DNA and make them so strong that it can never be shaken off, I'll start with:

Conscientiousness
Our conscience. We all have that no matter how evil you think you may be. There's always that soft side to all of us. Having this trait will save a lot from unnecessary drama because you'd think twice before saying anything to anyone.

Your actions will be calculated, and you'd put yourself in such a position and see how you'd react before doing anything to anyone.

Also, there won't be a reason for war, which will make the world better. Watching your friends and families getting killed won't take place.

Criminal affairs will go down to zero, and the city will be safe. There won't be that fear of being stalked or not being able to sleep well in your home.

Honesty

Saying the truth even when it hurts. It is better to say things instead of sugarcoating your words, which the person will likely get to find out.

I have watched many friendships fall apart just because the former thought the latter would be heartbroken if they were being told the truth. So, the former lies, and then the latter gets to find out from someone else. The hurt plus betrayal isn't something that goes well, and we all know what happens when your trust is broken. Even if it is for your sake, you won't fully trust that person anymore.

Respect

This may seem out of place or not. But I do believe everyone deserves to be respected no matter how young the person is.

I have come across people who believe you have to greet them first because they are older than you are, and this happened to me some months ago. I was coming back from work fully famished , and I was barely holding myself from eating the corn in my hand as I walked home.

But, for some reason, a woman who I do greet seems to be angry that I passed her by without greeting and decided to let a colleague of mine know about it.

If this woman had reported the same thing about me to someone sometime ago, I'd just completely ignore her because I couldn't care less. But, instead, I asked the woman why she didn't call me and greeted me first and then came the stammer after I told her how I was feeling that day.

She felt sorry for her actions, but that didn't stop me from advising her. The mentality that I must be greeted because I am older is nonsense and should be abolished.

Also, parents ought to respect their kids, especially when it comes to beating them or giving them unnecessary work. Communication needs to work more than the rod unless you are training a goat, which I assume not.

This is my response to Hivenaija weekly prompt.

We all have a conscience. We've either been blinded by greed or chosen to not lean into our humane side. It definitely would make a lot of difference if we show some more compassion and kindness. We need it as does our world

Selfishness is innate nature of man. Most of the evils befalling us today came from selfish ambitions. We love ourselves above us, if it's not us, then it doesn't have to be anyone lol.. that's the fallen man for you.

Respect, conscientiousness and honestly are very powerful traits, if only we will be patient enough to build them in us, the world would have grown beyond this

You have said it all. All the traits you have mentioned is one everyone should have.

Our conscience to always put us straight if we are doing the wrong thing. The ability to always tell the truth even in difficult situations and also showing respect to everyone irrespective of their age.

Thank you for sharing this. I learned a lot from your post.

The concept of humanism in existential philosophy see the human person as the maker or marer of their own dreams and aspirations. This gives the human person the obligation to love, care, respect and have sympathy over other persons so as to keep humanity peaceful. Everybody has that inner self that warn them against bad actions and appraise them in good actions. Some call it conscience while others refer to it differently. But the most important is that we must have to listen to that inner part of us.

Good writing skill demonstrated here. Congratulations dear!💯

Hahaha, I can relate with your experience with woman who complained of you not greeting her.
Your response is exactly what I usually give anyone who complains that about me.
