The Crossroad To The Other Side.

EowFDVc79zVK6rtD8mDtUUjXjdugCSvwQekAHCQ8Kcd2p7T7N5G3bdD4vJFGrNt4gAe.jpg

I heard the grass is greener on the other side but how true is that? Isn't it better to say it is a leap of faith one has that the other side will be better? It is just like a person going through a tunnel. We all know it is dark in there and there will be deep craving to see something but, does everyone who embarks on the journey sees what lies at the end?

Whatever answer you give to that now brings us back to the thought that;

"The grass is greener on the other side."

Growing up in a country like mine isn't the best kind of phase a sane person should go through while growing up. Childhood should be fun and filled with memories that will make you giggle when you reminisce on them when you are an adult but what happens when it isn't and the country is getting worse?

This is why most people in my country sort out to leave for other places they feel will get them that life of peace and tranquility but what happens if it doesn't too? I know things will get frustrating.

The crossroad to the other side isn't going to be fun and in some cases, it may be. When we are faced with the challenge of either taking a step forward or taking a deep breath and waiting, we get to know life has kept us at a cross road and whichever answer we choose will determine how things will end up to be.

And in cases like this, we are left with thoughts that say;

"Go!"
"Don't go!"
"I don't know if you should go or not."

A decision has to be made and when we choose one out of the options we have, we follow it with the belief that it will work out even when we don't know if it will and that is a leap of faith.

This is why we see young people going to other countries to seek greener pastures. No one wants to work endlessly forever with nothing to show for it. I remember quitting a job I have because I didn't see a future of me getting something tangible out of it. It wasn't an easy decision to make. It was hard and I had a long thought on it. Thoughts like;

"I have a responsibility to shoulder as I am not just responsible for myself, the economic crises, unavailability of a job ( the ones that you may likely get will need you to pay with your body), and many more filled my head."

But, I knew deep inside that I can't take the pressure of going to work each day with a solemn happy look just to get by each day so I said to myself;

"I'll be fine, my spirit, body, and all don't deserve this punishment. I'll surely find a way." So, I quit and I am glad I did because I found myself. I am at peace, I feel loved, cherished, and better. Though I am not in the best place right now financially, I am in a better place emotionally and that counts.

Life has put me on a bridge and it dared me to cross or stay so I chose the former and I am moving from there. It is a leap of faith that I have not because the grass is greener on the other side. And I know for sure that life will present another crossroad with a daring attitude and I will continue making the choices that I believe are best for me.

What about you? Do you plan to cross the road to the other side or stay put and restrategize? Whichever decision you make, you should know that life will not stop presenting you with bridges until the day you stop breathing.

A picture is more than a thousand words and the aforementioned words are what was spoken to me. Now, let's get to the question part.

"What Do You See?"
I can see a bridge with beautiful flowers, a river, the reflection of the trees seen in the water, and on the other side, some green fine young trees and houses..

"What Do You Feel?"
I feel the presence of nature's blessings and can hear the sound of the wind blowing back and forth to bless my ears with ancient unidentified brilliant music."*

Still yours truly,

Thanks for reading.

Peace be unto those who crave it and more to those who chase it away.

Is the grass always green on the other side?

I think the grass is green when we water the ground but on fertile soil of course!

Thanks for sharing.

Very true! If we take care of our grass it will be green too. It is easy to ignore that someone worked hard to make and keep that grass green.

Thank you for the beautiful piece. You're right, we're at a crossroad and a decision has to be made even in a haste as people barely breathe. The other side looks green, we're willing to risk it and get sanity from prolonged insanity

Just like you, I gave up on a job. I took a high risk but no job pays well enough if you feel miserable because of that job.
It is still more important than money.

The grass on the other side is rarely greener. It is not said that what others have you will have too.

Thanks for your entry. Greetings @wakeupkitty

Yes, people need to understand that being miserable isn't emotionally cool. You need to stop that negativity from taking over.

Yes, it isn't. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a thoughtful remark.

Happened to hear a sermon last Sunday about contentment. It seems whatever you don't have looks appealing but when you have, it's not "greener" as you think it is.😌

Life is not a bed of roses, but we have to keep going on. We have to face whatever life gives to us head on and get back up when we have to, because we have a responsibility to keep moving forward. Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece with us.
