I think this question is for me.
What's the one thing people always misunderstand about you?

I'm a very quiet person and I love my space a lot. I hate to be disturbed when I'm working or trying to get things done.
It is very difficult for me to flow with you when I don't know you or we are meeting for the first time. I usually keep my distance for a while until my brain tells me it's okay

Before now, I could be at home for weeks without coming out of the gate. At a time, my mom used to encourage me to visit friends.
I could watch the television for hours without being hungry and when I'm not doing that, I could finish reading a lengthy novel in a day.
People ask how I do it, but it's simple, I take out all distractions and concentrate. I don't even get hungry.

During my service year, I'm always reading novels in my room when I get back from my PPA. Before going, I bought a lot of books to last a long time. The only thing that takes me away from my novels then, was cooking or when I want to get groceries. While cooking, my book is usually still by my side.

Other corp members seldom see me outside.they all concluded that I am proud and I feel too big to talk to them.
They also believe I'm proud because of the way I dress. I always love to look good to wherever I'm going. I make sure to dress neatly and use my sunglasses.

All these gave them another impression about me.
My husband told me he thought I was a proud rich spoilt child before we became friends. But he later noticed I just love to be alone.

Most of them later got to understand me and they had another story to tell.
Till date, most people still get that impression about me before they get to know me.
I'm consciously taking my time to work on it and the work is still ongoing.

Seriously, at times I feel pained.
I don't get it why do they make conclusions about someone just like that. And they keep spreading the false information to others.

I wonder why it's so easy for people to form an opinion about other people's life and issues. Your fellow Corp members should have made an attempt to ask you why you don't mingle so as to get your reply.....this life is not balanced at all. You keep to your self they will call you proud, you interact a lot with people then they call you a busy body or an impulsive person...... it's well o

Many times those of us who are reserved and like to be alone can be taken for arrogant but that is far from reality, just that one can be well with oneself and at least in my case, I prefer small meetings to big parties.

In any case, people like to form an a priori judgment of others when they should know the person before forming an opinion, right?

People should try to know the person before they they conclude.
We can't all be the same, at the same time I believe that I should do what makes me happy.

Solemos pensar quizás cosas erradas de una persona sin conocerlas y es porque así es el ser humano pero cuando nos damos ese tiempo y ese momento para ver qué es distinta es allí donde realmente podemos juzgar y dar ese punto de vista real y llegamos hasta a admirar a personas maravillosas que se nos cruzan en la vida. People will be people. Here are a couple of quotes from other posts; it is what it is.
