Greetings Hivers, welcome to the Weekly ASEAN Hive "Hot Goss", where I @justinparke dig up false ASEAN Hive rumors and spread even more, but all in satirical fun and support of Southeast Asian content on Hive.

For centuries humans have been wearing wooden shoes, from the Netherlands to China and beyond, but the international wooden shoe market has always been a friendly one with room for competition. That does not appear to be the case any longer though, because China is preparing for a WOODEN SHOE WAR.

The Dutch already have a strong foothold in the Indonesian market, and that's likely why China has focused on dominating the market next door in Malaysia. Some citizens fear this shoe war might spill over into Borneo, leaving only Brunei to try and mediate the conflict, or enter the war with its own wooden shoes.

Sorcery and witchcraft are common practices in the countryside of SE Asia, and there is a legend that some folks are capable of turning animals into stone. Believe it or not, the wife of one of our ASEAN Hivers used to dabble in sorcery back in her younger years.

On this trip she decided to show her husband and ELEPHANT TURNED TO STONE, presumably by her. When he asked who was responsible for this, his wife just chuckled and changed the subject.

CROCODILE WRESTLING is a new sport craze that is taking over Bangladesh. With so much water in the country, it has now been targeted by international crocodile wrestlers as the new ground zero for this questionably dangerous sport.

There isn't much more needed than a murky pond and a strong will to get your training hours in, so that's why this ASEAN Hiver opened a crocodile wrestling training center. The startup costs are very low because all that is needed is a big hole, rain, and a reptile. It appears this gym is ready for action, just waiting for a resident crocodile to wander by and call this place home.
