Β Β Β Engagement is a very important part of any Hive community because even with lots of upvote power and post quality, little to no engagement just makes a community boring. Most of us probably know the feeling of spending several hours creating a quality post only to not even see a single comment. Even with a good post payout it's frustrating to see no comments at the bottom of your post.
Β Β Β This is where @charmingcherry comes to the rescue. You will often see her in the comments section of various community posts, always with a thoughtful longform comment, and she's often the only person in the comments section. This type of engagement is uplifting to authors with underserved posts, and it benefits us all as ASEAN Hivers.

This doesn't seem to apply to some old-timers here on Hive. They were initially friendly and engaged, but with time, they stopped responding to comments but continued posting to milk hefty rewards from auto-votes π
I sadly agree with you. If it wasn't for ASEAN Hive, I might've abandoned my Hive journey long ago. I really feel a sense of community with you all, and this means just as much to me as the potential post payouts.
I recently decided to unfollow a few long-timers because they have stopped engaging with anyone's comments. One individual hasn't responded to comments since 2022, despite consistently sharing new posts (often with rewards no less than $10). While I acknowledge that we all have busy lives and can't reply to every comment, not responding to any for days, weeks, months, or even years comes across as extremely rude.
Long ago, I brought up the matter of automated votes to a whale/community leader, and his response was merely suggesting that I could always downvote if I wasn't happy. Duh.
Seems as though even blockchain technology won't prevent some humans from being lazy and careless.
