May 6th, 2021The first thing I noticed this week was @luueetang's uptick, taking him to a total of 800 HP, keeping him in the number one spot for the silvers. Hot on his heels is @positivesteem, who increased his delegation to 797 HP, so I expect the two of them to be the winners quite often. Last but not least is @alvonsohiver, who increased his delegation to 300 HP.
The Silver VIPs is where all the hot action this week was, but sometimes the winner defies the odds, as was the case with the silver drawing this week. So, with that in mind, let's just go ahead and see who the winners were. You're all awesome, and as always I can't thank you enough for your commitment to this community.

How The VIP Delegator Raffle Works
Every raffle I tally the total HP delegated to the @asean.hive curation account, and one raffle ticket is allocated for each HP delegated by you ASEAN Hivers (excluding [me] @justinparke, @kidsisters, & @sreypov), with a minimum delegation of 50 HP to be eligible for the ASEAN Hive VIP 🥉 BRONZE Raffle.
There are four separate raffles, one for each VIP tier, and each tier's prize is a post beneficiary status equivalent to the tier's total percentage of raffle tickets allocated. This means the percentages of each tier's share of the prize is fluid, and I think it makes the raffle more fun and fairer.
This week's total effective HP is 78,141, and total delegated HP is 74,480 HP (50,825 HP minus ASEAN team member delegations & delegations under 50 HP), so I plugged the numbers into my Raffle Picker iOS app, selected "pick winners," and the results were instantly and randomly calculated.
The more you delegate, the greater your chances are to win, and this weekly raffle is just a fun way to reward supporters of Southeast Asian content on Hive.

Delegating is confusing, and it overwhelmed me in the beginning. My standard advice is usually to focus on reaching 500 HP first before worrying about delegating anything. You will need that 500HP so you can reward your commenters and have a big enough vote to garner a little attention in the notifications. Normally I would recommend to use your HBD to buy HIVE and power up, and now is a good time if you wanted to do it because HIVE is down, but honestly that 20% APR on HBD savings is too good to resist. Just keep powering up whatever liquid Hive you get until you reach 500 HP, you're already closing in on it quickly.
Ok, thanks for the info. I took from that the idea of rewarding commenter of my blogs, is that correct?
A few things to keep in mind, the way it stands now a comment can only reach a payout if it's above a 2 cent threshold. So basically if you don't have a 2 cent+ upvote, don't waste your HP on upvoting comments to reward your commenters. In that scenario, the best thing you can do is to upvote one of your commenters' posts because there is no threshold for a payout on post voting. Reaching that 500 HP goal will take you from a red fish to a minnow, a meaningless title, but you do get a notification and a special badge. You'll need a minimum 1 cent upvote to appear in the notifications of Hivers posts you upvote too, this will help you grow your account and get more attention too.
Just keep growing that HP until you reach 500, a very good base to hold and not delegate. I'd be honored to have your first HP delegated though when you reach 501 😁.

No point in upvoting comments until you're beyond that 2 cents threshold, but your 0.002 voting power will at least earn some miniscule curation rewards when upvoting posts. Unfortunately only Ecency gives notifications of upvotes less than 1 cent in value, so nobody using PeakD would even know you upvoted them unless they clicked the little heart and did some scrolling. Tell you what, since you've been so dedicated to this community, I'll delegate you 100 HP from my personal account until you reach 500 HP.
