Hello, NeedleWorkers! I'm back! It's not like you're waiting for it, but in my last post I promised that I would try to share my other two cross-stitch projects. So here now, I finally had the chance to take some pictures of my second project - A Lady on a Horse. I don't remember its name exactly, but I think that's it.

Let's go big this time.

After completing the Cherub, I felt a bit more confident that I decided to take on a bigger project. Quite literally, I'd say because this one is 20 in x 25 in. Apart from that, I really fell in love with the horse design and thought that this would be a nice wall decoration at home.

Patterns

And look at what I found! Right with an unfinished project of mine are these bunch of papers. I thought they were the pattern of the unfinished project but no...

You have to remember that this project was 22 years ago. Seeing these now makes it seem to be just yesterday. I've not made any cross-stitch projects after this and another one, so I do not know how patterns are made now. But during that time, we just buy photocopies of the patterns and connect them. This project consisted of 9 pages!

Can you make out what part of the pattern this is?

Yes, it's the pattern for most of the face of the horse.!

This one below is what would be the face of the lady. As you can see, I had to manually highlight the parts that I have already completed to make sure that I do not mess them up. I am ever so proud of how patient I was with this. LOL.

I remember a colleague who once asked me where I get my patience from when dealing with our Sales Team and clients. I told her I have immense practice with my three children. Now looking back, I guess the months of cross-stitching laid a brick-solid foundation for my patience. 😁

Anyway, here are more details of the project -- "16 colors" is the only thing I understand. I do not know what "sk" means and the cloth size, too. I relied on the sales lady on everything - from cloth size, to the amount of threads I needed to buy to complete this.

The Lady and the Horse

The whole area of the canvas had stitches. All 20 in x 25 in. I remember being bored when working on a big block of the same color and getting overwhelmed when there were lots of color changes.

Then again, every time I saw significant progress like a portion taking shape (like the face of the woman), I got very inspired and hyped up to go on.

I have to say, my favorite part of this work of art is the horse. I love its color and the details on its eyes and mane.

I think it took about three months before I was able to finish this project. I loved making it and it brought me so much satisfaction albeit gave me astigmatism too. Haha.

Wow I love this one Arrliinn! That’s a gorgeous horse.

I guess the months of cross-stitching laid a brick-solid foundation for my patience.

Lol yes, must be so because this one is very detailed. Pretty neat seeing how the patterns come together. Yep, very complicated looking like I imagined 😄.

Thanks for sharing it ~

Wow, that is so big @arrliinn. I can't imagine myself doing that big. Maybe I have to count for years after I finished that one lol. 🤣

But I think, the bigger your crosstitch, the more beautiful it would be, just like yours. Huhu kakainspire. 😭 Gusto ko rin gumawa, pahinging time at malingaw na mata ma rin. 😅

Thanks @jonalyn2020 ! Actually nag feeling confident lang ako that time pero mejo di ko rin sure kung matatapos ko. Haha. Dami pang time nuon, sarili lang iniisip. Ngayon hindi na pwede. XD Pero tingin ko eto rin nagbigay saken ng astigmatism kasi kahit madilim na nagtatahi pa rin ako.
