From the Roof Deck | Shadow Hunters 319

After many months of coming to the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation, we finally had the chance to check out the roof deck. While in the Children's Library, we saw some people going up the stairs.

Huh? It's allowed to go up there?

All this time we thought, we couldn't. So on our way out, we decided to check it out too.

We were not sure if there was another way to go up, like an elevator, but we went up through steep stairs. So steep, I could still feel the pain on my leg muscles 2 days later. 😵

Can you see the bottom? Yep, that's the very spot where I took my Shadow Hunters' 310 post.

"It was worth it coming up here..."

Were the very words by the Little Man.

And I definitely agree.

At the right side after coming up the stairs, there were chairs and tables. I think there's a restaurant or a cafe here, or if not, there used to be. We kept looking for the spot where there may be an elevator but we couldn't not find it. We found a few fire exits though.

We checked out the area and yes, took some photos too!

It was breezy and the sun was starting to go down. If it were not for the husband already waiting for us, the kids and I would have stayed here longer.

This is my entry for this week's Shadow Hunt:

The place was surrounded by thick glass for the safety of the people who come here. I had three kids with me and I did not feel it was unsafe for them.

We looked around through this thick glass and saw these date trees from above. Passing by there, we didn't reealize there were this much trees providing shade to us at the ground.

It was so nice up here that we could see most of the streets surrounding the Qasr Al Hosn - Hamdan Street, Airport Road, and Khalidiya.

Here's one with the view of the World Trade Center and the Burj Mohammed Bid Rashid.

After staying here for few minutes and checking it out from each side, we decided it was time to go down.

Looking at this photograph below, sunset was near and the it would have been nice to spend the golden hour at this roof deck. Hmmm, perhaps next week. 😍
